There are like 2 Jrue-esque guards in the entire NBA. One is 35 year old Jrue who is paid more than IQ right now, and Jalen Suggs who is perpetually injured. Which Shead-esque archetype guy is realistically obtainable for us who would be better than IQ? I have asked this question to people a dozen times now and never seem to get a name

Derrick White (not really attainable either)

Marcus Smart

not a comparison, but shorter PG's reputed to play some defense include

Marcus Smart, Davion Mitchell, Kyle Lowry, Mike Conley, Gary Payton II, FVV, Cason Wallace, Cole Anthony? Jose Alvarado?

Not familiar with the last two

As well with RJ too and felt like that shot at the Kawhi shot to send Sixers home at that last minute shot.

Why should we apologize to IQ just because he made a winning bucket once ? He's still overpayed and trash.

I only want him to get back to ~39% from 3 and I'm happy. Coaching staff needs to examine game tape and see if he's picked up a bad habit.

Also, if he missed the last shot, he'd be 7-18, 2-11 from 3 with 2 assists. That one shot changed the entire narrative. Running off a screen to catch and shoot is a shot he's capable of making, which most of our roster can't.

Our offence off the bench is ass because you are playing Dick 12 minutes.

Give all of Ochai and Walters minutes to Dick and watch him put up more points with the exposure.

Dick with 1 FGA is inexcusable. Darko has to find shots for the guy when he's on the floor.

He's on the floor for his defense, not his shooting

Yes but also a good chance to find out BI's impact on the team. We, and by that I mean some people who don't know basketball, learned about RJ's impact through his absence.

We already know from last year, and our record will probably be worse than without Barrett, as without a closer we can only keep the game close.

I swear it feels like people learned nothing when we won a title. The NBA is about matchups so you need to be able to play multiple ways to win.

Raptors had to play Gasol/Ibaka/Siakam/Kawhi/Lowry to beat Philly. We needed Gasol/Ibaka/Kawhi to handle Giannis. Then we were able to play smaller with Ibaka/Siakam/Kawhi in the finals against Gstate.

That's what I call the dirty work. That's why Poeltl is so valuable to them. I love CMB as a small ball 5 in spurts but they don't have the shooting to overcome the lack of height, bulk and verticality at the 5. This team needs screens, rim protection, rim deterrence and easy baskets to be consistently good and beat good teams.

15-2 in the last 17 games that RJ plays.

Odd that a lot of the negative posters are nowhere to be seen. Must be a coincidence.

RJ was like those old school NFL running backs stretching 2 yards into 3 in the 4th.

They certainly seem to have that off court chemistry you want from a team.

I literally argued the entire summer with a mod on this same topic, everything I said has been playing out, & the mod was using the same ole tired talking points ignoring or simply not believing in context....

Man, RJ has just been so good for us.

What a nice trade in retrospect, getting BOTH RJ and Quick for OG.

Hope Ingram isn’t out long. Would be nice to go on another run being relatively healthy.

Hopefully that shot gets IQ going and that would be a bigger benefit. Also, I wonder if Darko is going to use Shead to close when protecting a lead and IQ if needing points.

Also Poeltl was day to day - so day to day means nothing, just a dodge.
