RJ is fantastic and I'm glad we have him.
This man will get 0 shade from me going forward.

there wasn't just a little there was a LOT of hate for RJ, continuing right up until he got hurt even. I'd like to see someone go back and gather the receipts on all the posters who thought it was ok to endlessly trash a toronto-born player who has made a consistently positive impact since he arrived. to me that is such sh*tty behaviour.
A mod literally told me that NO ONE hates Rj. With people and 1ing. Been told I make up these arguments. Always gaslighting.
Nope.
Anyone who referred to him as a toxic asset.
Anyone who keeps thinking he has tunnel vision.
Anyone who wanted to trade him for Malik Monk and others
Anyone who thought Gradey/Ochai/Jakobe needs to start over RJ despite being clearly inferior players to him.
Those are the haters.

I’m well aware. Tell that to the mod/posters that say I make up arguments or call me rjs dad for defending him.

Well, I guess I was lucky without that much challenge in defending Barrett and pointing out his rim pressure is what we need.
However, I guess I would be laughed if I suggest we build our offense on Ingram and Barrett and perhaps another big combo guard. But first we may need to see how much we are paying Barrett and what his expectation to be, as we are into the tax.

Re: Official RJ Barrett Thread Part 2
I was watching Barrett’s college highlights and he seems to have changed his shooting form quite a bit… it seemed more fluid and it looked like he actually had the ability to pull up off the dribble. His new form doesn’t really allow him to do that… that being said he has been a more efficient shooter in the nba, so I guess it’s working, but it looks a little more unorthodox now than how it used to be.

Re: Official RJ Barrett Thread Part 2
To be fair I thought that was our most optimal lineup not because I thought they were better - but because I thought it would balance out our lineups better. RJ was always obviously more talented than them.mtcan wrote:Boogie! wrote:lobosloboslobos wrote:

He certainly has looked way better this year than I thought he would.

It's always looked a bit weird but yeah he did rework his shot in the pros. I think it's basically pointless for him to work on a pull-up J, it will never get used or be a good shot for him. He's got that push shot now when he doesn't get all the way to the rim and it's enough. It's the FT shooting that I hope he can eventually fix and at least consistently get into the 70's even if it's low 70's.

Shout out to RJ!
He doesn't look like a finished product yet and still has significant impact on this team. I truly think he's only beginning to blossom.
