It happened back in the KG/ PP days. Still happening today.

Many of Queta's "screens" were overtly illegal tonight. They don't call that stuff, but they have to call the marginal contact on Brown's drives.

All the push offs too. Which the NBA seems to ignore these days along with travelling.

I love the way Martin plays. Strong. Fast. Has no fear. Seems untra competitive. He was super juiced up guarding Brown.

The way he fights past screens & doesn't give up on plays.......that's what you need from your role players. You need that from everyone really, but when your role.players and bench guys are soft, you don't have a chance in hell. You need those smaller minute guys to come in and scratch/ claw/ battle on every play. Maximim effort.

What you lack in skill, you have to make up for with effort and physicality.

Yeah, its crazy what they decide they should call vs not call. It's not even basketball anymore.

There was one sequence where Queta was at the high post & instead of moving his feet to set a screen, he leaned over put both arms out & prevented one of the Raptors from keeping up with his man. 20 seconds later, he shuffled his feet multiple times towards center court while one of our guys was trying to go over his "screen". It creates such a massive advantage for teams with good shooters. It's illegally preventing defensive players from actually playing defense.

Not saying it's why the Raptors lost, but witnout a doubt these illegal screens allow the Celtics (and other teams) to win on some nigts.

Proud of the effort from the boys tonight. You're playing the Cs and you're missing 3/5 starters. Game was within reach at some points. Hopefully, we'll get a chance to see them play against the Celtics when the Raptors' are fully healthy.

Rolling an ankle to the outside? Probably could have come back after a few minutes if so or worst case 1-2 weeks if it was really bad.

Okay man

You’re right. The guy who’s last on our team in usage has had a green light all year. 100%. He’s been given usage and failed

He started and got pulled from the lineup due to performance. You are like 5% of the fanbase that thinks Walter hasn't gotten enough opportunity. He and our other backup SGs have been horrible for majority of the season.

Yeah, you don't read. Just argue about stuff no one is saying

Getting out of this game without any injuries would have been nice. Ugh.

For those that don’t want Sabonis, this is exactly a game where we got crushed and out rebounded. Would have the been the difference between a W and L.

I think Sabonis to Raptorsnis legit and one way or another needs to happen.

Jacob to Dubs, Kuminga and IQ to Kings, Monk and Sabonis to Raps. We won’t see a drop at PG.

Monk to me is a wash with Quick, but on a cheaper contract. Monk has completely falling out of favor with the Kings so they probably see him as a negative.

Yeah, I've been complaining about the illegal screen thing for a while. It's so annoying and frustrating because it's so obvious. And certain players seem to get away with it way more than others. For whatever reason Quetta is one of those players.

This kind of thing really benefits a team like the Celtics with their high pick-and-roll dominated offence. They're basically allowed to begin every action playing 5-on-4 because the illegal screens take a defender out of the play and they just work from advantage from there. No wonder they create so many open threes on defensive rotations.

I don't even know what that means.

You don't enjoy watching players that are competitive & play hard?

For me, its not about the NBA. Its about watching people compete. In all levels of basketball and all levels of sports.

There is an appreciation for guys that work hard & give it everything they have.......regardless of skill. It shows character.

I have that same appreciation whether I am watching a high school game, college game, the olympics, Euroleague, NBA.......whatever.

Queta is a perfect example of a guy who would be a complete noname scrub & get called on most of those illegal plays if he was on a tanking team. He goes to a bigger market playoff team like Boston & suddenly he gains the reputation of being a tough/ valuable player.

Then he goes to the Wizards & becomes an unknown scrub again, getting called on every illegal screen he sets.

I don't understand this comment. It was his first extensive minutes with the team and he looked damn good. A lot of people here love to decide young players future after a few games. Just give the kid props for his first real game and enjoy the journey, none of us have a crystal ball.

Well said, you see it at the local community centres. There are guys who joke around, play no d, jack up shots, and there are guys who keep cutting, contest with help d, recover, and crash the boards hard to earn extra possessions. Guess which guys end up winning more and staying on the court more? The guys who end up building community and connection with their teammates because it shows them that no matter what, that guy will continue to give it 100 percent effort, get scored on? Doesn't matter, next play. That stuff makes a difference, that's what leading by example is, that's why announcers make a big deal when a star dives for the ball, that's the whole point of sport
