AD is the only one who can theoretically get us to the conference finals or further. Of course it all depends on health but i don't think Sabonis is a playoff player, even when healthy. I would take the chance on upside

Sabonis is making $43 million this season, AD is making $54 million. We have to trade two starters at least to get AD. With Sabonis, we can trade for him with just IQ+Dick+Ochai, potentially avoid the tax with this route.

Not sure why Sacramento would take on IQ though, and what we would do with the PG spot. I guess Shead might be able to start, but can we rely on Hepburn or Martin to give us backup minutes? Maybe we can take back Devin Carter from the Kings, but of course we're well into the tax if do that.

The only correct answer is NONE OF THE ABOVE. Which is the obvious missing option.

At this point, I'm curious about a trade package from Sacramento. A healthy AD is the real prize, but he's rarely healthy, and injured again. Sabonis + Ellis are a more realistic haul for the Raptors without giving up too much. If there is a way to steal Monk as well, then maybe the Raptors look into that as well? I just think it's time for the Raptors to consolidate on some of their younger talent, especially if they're serious about championship contention within Brandon Ingram's timeline.

BI having a solid season and relatively healthy, the Raptors should be listening on him - BI has never carried a team to much success and I'd be willing to sell high on him - wonder if the new regime in New Orleans would want him back.
