Ja is the better player. Worst case, he becomes a valuable expiring in 2027–28. Moving Quickley for Ja also clears Quickley’s contract one year sooner.

You're paying Ja based on past production, hoping he can regain form in a new situation. He did finish top 10 in MVP voting in 2022.
We're paying IQ for production that never happened and never will happen. IQ is a bench player 7th/8th man on a serious team, but making all-star money.

What would it take to get JJJ in your opinion?
CMB + picks package, not worth it

A backcourt of Morant-Quick intrigues me a bit. I think IQ would excel as a SG w/ his primary ballhandler duties revoked.
Morant is an excellent playmaker and would be a huge upgrade at the PG position over IQ.
lol no, decent chance that doesn't even make us better in the short term much less the long term
He has a higher ceiling that RJ so I would do that deal. Remove the 2 1sts and give them Mamu (we likely can't re-sign him anyway).
Poeltl / Mogbo
Barnes / CMB
Ingram / Walter / Battle
Morant / Martin
IQ / Shead
I think going forward with 2 PGs full time as starters is the way to go. If you include Shead that gives us a lethal 3 man guard rotation. We also have CMB for a solid big man rotation. I think the others including Martin, Battle, Hepburn, etc will have a couple guys who make the jump into the rotation. I would give them more minutes.
Trilogy wrote:Don't let your frustrations with IQ drive towards a change for the sake of change. Morant fits poorly here with his lack of shooting/ball dominance, has a bad attitude, injury issues and signs of physical decline as a result of those issues already despite being pretty young still.
Wanting to go in a different direction than IQ is very understandable, but Morant isn't that answer.

Send out RJ and play him with IQ
It's the only way we do this where we don't sacrifice a ton of 3 point shooting (better to go from RJ to Ja, than IQ to To Ja)
Totally disagree. No way I want to see two undersize skinnyazz guards. Quick is too streaky anyhow. Better to hold off and find another offball shooting threat. Replace his shooting down the road.
RJ and Ja will also get in each other's way, as they both attack the basket.
Better Ja the main penetrator,
Brandon moving from mid range, to three point line, attacking the seams when it works,
Scottie diving and finding posts up in the flow,
Yak creating space for all and rolling,
quick the 3 point release valve.
What's your plan?

I'm all for it. He's a better player and the drama they'll give us is good theater, if nothing else.
