Would be most likely include a mix of the following contracts to match salary. No picks.

Rozier, Fontechio, Kasparas

Would give Miami to assess what a team of

Bam Ware
Wiggins Jovic
Powell JJJ
Herro Larson
Morant Mitchell

That’s a solid deep rotation.

Allows Miami to have 4 tradable 1sts in the off-season with assets in Herro, Ware, Larson and a good expiring in Mitchell.

If they get Ja, I think there would be a follow up move off of Herro or Powell. Can't risk losing Powell for nothing and Tyler's value risks being even more in the gutter.

I think Herro will go. I'm also not sure the org will pay up for Norm, but I doubt we trade both.

My gut tells me they view Pelle as the optimal starting SG if they went for Ja. He needs an offseason flat out working on spot up threes though - spacing a must if we have Ja.

I will say that these reports sound legit. We got Shams saying the Heat have a level of interest. Shumpert would have some connections. Nichols saying Ja wants Miami.

Sounds very similar to when Trae said "sure, I'll be a Wizard".

Let's see what shakes out I guess.

I suspect the Heat offer for Ja will be Rozier and Jovic.

I believe the Heat are likely in the process of negotiating Powell contract. If they cant come to an agreement he could be traded.

Hypothetical: It’s 2024, you are Pat Riley. You get a phone call from the Mavs. “Any interest in Doncic?” What do you say? Who do you offer? Keep in mind, you have Jimmy Butler on the team looking to get paid and he aint happy he hasn’t been extended for $1 gazillion dollars yet.

With all these rumors surrounding Ja and Trae being traded, I think this question is relevant today. Did the Heat get the phone call? If they didn’t, why not? Bam is definitely a better players on a team than AD, even in 2024.

Norm will also come much cheaper and less years. Herro and Rozier for Morant and KCP is what i’m thinking. Norm also a much better vet to have running with Morant

Anything and everything should've been on the table, if he ever got the call. Nico negotiated in bad faith though.

How would that work with Niko and his "poison pill" contract?

Without a 3rd team the most reasonable ones seem:

Terry + Fontecchio + Jaquez (or Kasparas)

Don't really want to give up anything for Ja, seems like a risky gamble
If they decide it is worth it, I'll be having my fingers crossed for this to not totally go sideways

If Heat land Ja for scraps, I would love to move on from the ridiculous Giannis clownshow and put those 2 picks and Herro in a deal for Trey Murphy.

Ware
Bam
Trey
Norm
Ja

better space... a lot of upside in Trey, Ja, Ware and they're locked up for a while. More importantly, apparently Trey wants to be here.

Murphy is good but he’s not Herro plus 2 1sts good.

If it happens I think this might be the deal and it seems pretty fair to me.

Image

Then the Grizz can trade Jaren Jackson and have Herro be their tank commander when he plays if they want to rebuild. Or they can pair them as they are about the same age and have 2 years to see if they want Tyler to be part of their future. Plus they also get Fonzie's $8M expiring contract. I think that is likely as good an offer as they will get unless the Kings get stupid which is certainly possible if not sort of likely actually  . But this is where I'd draw the line on what I'd give up for Ja I think. Take it or leave it, I wouldn't be upset either way. If we could actually get him without Herro somehow then for sure do it, but I'm not so sure he'll come THAT cheap.

Jovic is not getting dealt this year unless the team getting him has a spare 16 mil in cap space opening up next year. Those PPP contracts very rarely get dealt in the low figure year. With the way Jovic has been playing I don’t see anyone wanting that extension anyway.

I get the feeling it’s not going to cost Herro and then we can flip him to shore up another position with hopefully a talented 2 way all star/fringe all star player

This is a very logical deal. Spot on with the salary

You’re stacking up way too many big salaries on this team. It doesn’t work out that way anymore. It’s hard to field 3 players making 40 mil and up disregarding the rest of the roster. Wiggins would have to go in such a deal. Bam and Morant alone will be making 90 mil plus next year not accounting for Herro 31 mil, Powell F/A, and Wiggins 30 mil opt in.
