I've mainly been following Queen's defense. His effort and movement has actually improved a bit, but he has such little lift and doesn't have center height/length, so even if he's in position to contest, a lot of the times players just make shots over him. As opposed to CMB, who's even shorter and also doesn't have good center length..but he's quick on his feet, has hops and elite defensive instincts and IQ.

I also wonder if putting in that defensive effort has been affecting Queen's offense a little. He needs to improve his stamina.

I think the league is probably adjusting to his offensive game as well. He likely surprised a lot of players with his unorthodox finishing but now that there's more tape out, it's more difficult to pull some of that stuff off. He just lacks any sort of burst, struggles over length and can't shoot, so having to just rely on touch makes it pretty hard to be that efficient.

That amazing reddit post that I posted in here in the offseason and encouraged everyone to read and convinced a lot of people that CMB was legit, turned out to be legit.

His forward burst on offense doesn't seem too bad to me. I think he's match-up based (good against slow C's). But now he's playing more PF alongside Zion. On top of that, his number isn't being called anymore as Zion and Trey are taking most of the shots. And Queen's value deteriorates if he's getting less usage. I would use him as an offensive 6th man where he can lead the bench.

There was also a post about Knueppel on here too that turned out to be correct

He really is the closest we've seen to Draymond since Draymond. There have been a lot of guys who've come around with similar size/stat profiles but many lacked the defensive instincts and passing ability of Draymond, but CMB combines all of that. He looks like a 5 year vet much of the time, not a rookie.

That last sentence is so true.

We're relying on a 20 year old rookie to essentially anchor our defense. Pretty awesome that he's stepping up.
