Imagine this ends up happening lol Raps fans would lose their minds in the bad and good way...

Morant/Shead/Martin
Russell/Walter/Lawson
Ingram/Battle
Barnes/CMB
Davis/Landale

We would prolly have to go shopping on the by out market vet guards and a vet SF and maybe an insurance big for Davis...

That team is injury prone to hell but has alot of upside if all things clicked.

5m over the tax?
Don't think we can trade consecutive picks, and unsure we got enough shooting with Morant and Russell and Barnes.
After all, I think we will only have 3 core players, instead 4 (Davis, Barnes, Ingram, Morant).

Yeah obviously details would need to be changed but just was checking if it were possible and it definitly is possible we could trade for both guys. Obviously a huge risk but if Bobby is going to go after Davis who is on the tale end of his career and very injury prone....You might as well put talent around him so we have legit championship ceiling....Can't half ass it if you are trading for Davis you need another move to follow.

Going 10m over the tax is unlikely "possible".
Those trades are 5m over, and we are 1m over, adding 4 min contracts would put us 10m over the tax.

Basically NBA is trying to avoid teams having 4 core players near the max.

As for Davis, he is only interested in coming when are are giving him the max, or S&T. If we learned our lesson on taking Dragic, we are definitely not interested in taking a salary that requires a pick to dump.

Yeah it doesn't even have to be for Morant but we will deff see a follow up move .....Losing IQ and not having a proper PG in place seems unlikely....Unless we get Russell and try to run him as the starting PG but to me that seems ugly...

If we are getting Davis we would need to try and stack the chips in some way to at least make us legit contenders or its all for nothing...

When we trade Ochai & a 2nd for Nick Richards the prophecy will be complete

Do we really think that the super happy to be playing at home in Toronto, RJ Barrett, is playing hardball pricing himself out of Toronto? Doesn't make that much sense. But let's say that's reality, if he does that and ends up traded to some city or organization that he doesn't like somewhere, that's pretty short sighted.

After seeing what they paid an inferior player in IQ.. can you blame him?

Depends, but Yes.

I wonder if Darko thinks he can make it work with trading IQ and then have Shead/Scottie playmaking and then getting AD to support that.

There's going to be a monster hole to fill with regards to shooting but I guess they're prepared to live with that.

Why are we trading for a guy we're not even sure will be available for the playoffs? And who's months removed from even being in NBA shape let alone what the injuries have done to erode his skills?

Like if this trade happens it's immediately just RJ and IQ for... nothing. Who does that? Why is this even being entertained?

I feel like we can get away with below average 3-point shooting on most nights, and it makes sense.
I'm curious how many of those misses were offensive rebounded.

This article makes me sad. I keep hoping now that he's playing well that we'll find a way to keep RJ here, but it doesn't seem likely to happen.

We seem far more likely to blow what assets we have on guys who won't get it done for us.

Yeah that would be interesting. The Pacers stink but that was a fun look when Scottie is firing on all cylinders. You can see how it opened up the floor. Darko is huge on getting paint touches from his PG since it opens up the floor. Thats why i believe in the Morant rumours too.

I dont think IQ Is a bad player by any means. But i’m thinking that he might not be the most optimal fit for this team.

Looks like Bobby wants to lean into more defense and playmaking.

We overpaid Quickley, traded for an expiring Ingram and rushed to extend Poeltl for some inexplicable reason. There was no way to keep Barrett without going into the tax. This is all a making of our front office.

I know that, I just don't like it. We're going to have to move SOMEONE, no doubt.

Chasing big names it’s gonna bite us
2019 Eastern Conference All Stars

Derozan
Lowry
Ibaka
Valanciunas
Van Vleet
Delon Wright
Lebron
Embiid

There are only 2 teams in the league that rank in the top 6 in offensive and defensive efficiency: the Golden State Warriors and the Toronto Raptors.

TBH, this is the type of trade I'd hope we do. I'd much rather this than getting Davis.

No one wants Quickley's contract.
It seems Barrett/Poeltl/Agbaji for Davis/Exum, I wonder if we need to include picks.
After all, we are still over the tax with no good guards.

ofc picks would need to be included, and i'd guess multiple 1sts. That package going out is negative. RJ may be needed for our team, but he hasnt been better this year than last when the Pel's decided they wanted Bruce Brown's expiring over him. Nothing has changed in the valuation over RJ league-wide, and Poeltl is a straight up bad contract. Im guessing there would be 2 1sts involved in this, in which case i wouldnt do it. Investing in AD is a dumb idea, and the Mavs can just dump him over taking back bad money

Lol that's crazy talk. Picks for 45 games/season of mid-thirties AD. Nope, maybe 2nd rounders

I think they are tryna sell high on RJ. We would be all over trading RJ if he wasn't playing good like IQ, Jak, Dick, Oachi. But it feels like it could a Norm situation where in 3 year RJ becomes a legit real good player.
