We have CMB guarding C, it doesn't mean other teams C are guarding CMB in the future. Their coach may have their C guarding Barnes, lol.

That's still a mismatch.

Love his play so far, but need to get better at finishing and going up strong at the rim, especially in some traffic. He’s strong, even though he’s not towering above the trees there he can at least get himself to the line, more often. It would have made a big difference last night.

I noticed this game in particular there’s more trust from his teammates to pass to him and make a play. It takes time but they’re slowly realizing he’s here for the long haul with Poeltl out and they need to trust in him and not ignore him on offense.

There are only 2 teams in the league that rank in the top 6 in offensive and defensive efficiency: the Golden State Warriors and the Toronto Raptors.

A Centre guarding Barnes.

Clippers weaponized CMB's lack of shooting against us last night.

I hope Darko works his magic on his jumpshot, it still looks very uncomfortable to look at lol. Love that he's getting more chances to make a play with the ball in his hands though.

If CMB gets continued usage as a finisher on the roll or from the dunker spot he'll need to improve his finishing craft—hopefully enough to draw fouls. He should hone in on someone like Jimmy Butler and attempt to emulate his approach. CMB will also need to be excellent with his right hand.

You will need more evidence or explaination to convience me, otherwise looking at the stats and seem to make no difference in points or team points from stats.

Wasn't just him, it was Scottie as well. They dared both of them to shoot from the outside. It was a bit rough out there having 4 fairly unwilling shooters out there at the same time in Scottie, CMB, Shead and Ochai.

Scottie's always had that problem so I didn't mention him but yeah.

I want him to take at least 2-3 3pt shots a game. It's a rebuild year, we aren't contenders, but we need him to develop if we want to ever get there.

I can't let this stand were 43 games into the season at the 1/2 point.

WE ARE 4TH IN THE CONFERENCE FULL STOP!

IF THE PLAYOFFS STARTED TODAY WE'D BE HOSTING THE MAGIC WITH HOME COURT ADVANTAGE!

If we are healthy I think we'd beat them too. A playoff series win would be huge for the development of guys like Barnes, Gradey, Walter, CMB, Shead, and even RJ/IQ.

What's his health status for LA? He seemed pretty banged up from the last game.

We are playing a ton of guys with no playoff experience and minimum of 2 rookies. It is a rebuild year. Whether we are in 4th or 8th, because its a really good bet that the first season they play in the playoffs, they are gonna get beat because of it. They do need to lock up a non-play-in spot to guarantee playoff experience though.

And CMB should be playing as much at C as possible, including against guys where he's at a big disadvantage. And should be shooting from 3 a decent clip.

Re: finishing from the dunkers spot against other bigs — I think folks who have never been in that position underestimate how difficult that is. Especially when you catch the ball from a static position/not moving. If the layup/finish isn’t there, the best option is to try a post move or to pass it out — otherwise it’s going to result in a block that functions like a turnover.

That said, CMB needs to put the ball on the floor more. There are a lot of times where he catches the ball in space and isn’t even thinking of trying to create for himself. That needs to stop. He needs to be more aggressive with the dribble. Doing so should open up his game and help the team, especially with his passing ability. I’m not worried though. He’s still getting his feet wet. That’ll come.
not strong, only aggresive cuz the power ain't directed/ that's why, we are subjected to the will of the oppressive

He's been fine shootings 3s and he can certainly dribble drive so I think he's just sticking to the offensive role asked of him as primarily a facilitator and connector unless he's in transition or in the paint. Though who knows if it's all directive or not. Either way, probably good to remember he's still only a few months in playing in this league.

I give him a pass for his offense. Hopefully that comes in time.

He is giving us exponentially more on the defensive end than we should ever expect from a rookie. He's come along much faster than I thought on that end and I already thought he had extremely high end defensive potential.

His defense is too valuable to not play. Just wrap his hand like a club similar to what defensive lineman in football do and throw him back out there.

barnes gained 10-15 pounds of muscle and got stronger and more explosive since he was rookie...a few more years of lifting i wonder how big and strong and powerful this kid is gonna get...its scary thinking about his defense improving
