Ja is the worst 3 point shooting guard in the NBA for usage. He drains possessions and will destroy an offense that isn't tailored to him. There's a reason the Griz are willing to give him away for nothing.

Ja Morant and Brandon Clarke for IQ, Dick (or Ochai), Poeltl and 2026 2nd pick (LAL) is all I would be willing to trade. Maybe Darko can get Ja to buy into our 4 headed monster on offense? Ja, RJ, BI and Scottie all capable of putting up 20ppg.

If you can get Aldama I'd think about it but otherwise its not worth the hassle.

Morant isn't better than anything we have on paper. In theory he's more talented than anyone on our roster but on paper he's not even better than Quickley.

IQ, Ochai & Gradey for Ja & Londale works, and savings Raps $2.1M, to get under the tax, and possibly sign a minimum deal. Throw in this years FRP, and maybe that is enough.

I don't think there is a player I have wanted to trade for less than Ja Morant.

I'm more inclined to stand pat at the TDL than make a move for Ja, Davis, or Sabonis. I'd rather revisit during the offseason as new players and our/other situations become clearer.

Temetrius Jamel is only 26. He's not an old guy, you know. I don't think he's done.

If we rehab him we can trade him. If we don't we can attach picks to his expiring contract, similar to Bruce Brown for BI. Similar to Trae trade.

Smaller guards that can't shoot have not aged out well.

I am saying it makes more sense to rebuild his value and trade him than it does to build with him long term and extend him.

I think he will be fine cause he wants a new contract. He is still 26, oneshouldn't decline physically at that age. I think his issues are more him acting like a gangsta and work attitude, which for now is compensated by talent.

But Indeed I see him as a stepping stone. I'd package his rehabbed contract (or his expiring contract) and picks and shoot for a superstar. Better package than the long-term IQ package because he can be flipped.

no way do you throw in this years FRP

maybe next year since it's a terrible draft class, but even then I'd add protections.

Only trade I'd consider for Morant is IQ + filler (Ochai/Walter/Gradey)

The FRP is also about getting the Griz to take IQ's contract. Getting off of Gradey's final year, combined with IQ's contract, will cover most of Ja's contract next season.

Also, while this draft is considered good, the way the Raps are playing, and hopefully improve after this trade, they could be looking at a pick in the 20's in this draft.

There'salso the remote possibility he resets his career in Toronto.

I think I see him more like rose. Once that athleticism starts diminishing then he will be done

I think Ja still has it in him to play at an elite level. But I understand the other side of the equation of what if. But Ja at 40ish million and a 32.5 million IQ, I would still take my chances with Ja. Also one year less on his contract. Every downside situation about Ja was literally mentioned when we got BI. However don’t think you get Ja without including the first. Maybe can put some protections on it though.

We have a late 1st round pick and 2 2nd rounders that I don’t mind giving them. The NBA draft mostly sucks.

I thought the general consensus was this was a deep draft

I haven’t looked at this years draft lately, but I think why it is considered team is you have maybe 5-6 guys at the top that can be allstars. Deep drafts have many definitions. But typically when people say deep I don’t think they mean into the teens and 20s but more so there are some solid prospects at the top.

That's where I am at as well.

Good things are happening. The emergence of CMB (& Shead) have taken away the pressure to make a move for roster purposes.

Another big would.still be nice, but if the can find another ORob, just sign him & move on.

If teams want more than Quick/ Gradey/ Ochai, then we may as well just stand pat.

Do we really want a guy who has clearly quit on his team? This is on top of his gun and other off court incidents.
