lol of course the late game I can't watch has IQ drop 40. Looked like a blowout most of the game and we let them back in late?

Seems like the Raptors offense is more successful when Shead is distributing the ball and as many posters have mentioned IQ is really an off ball guard. I would like to see more of Shead-IQ backcourt but where does that leave RJ whose attack the basket mode is also sorely needed - with RJ back soon will be interesting to see how Darko plays them and if anyone gets moved.

I think the original sin, if there is one for this Raptors edition is trading for two shooting guards and not having the stones to bench one of them, or have them come in off the bench. It’s reported that RJ might come back tonight. It’ll be interesting to see, if they still try and build off more IQ off Ball. I’ll have to try and watch this game and replay try and get a feel if they played any differently with Jamal starting a point alongside IQ.

After Quickley's 2nd 3 it looked like one of those games. We are now as close to 2nd as we are to 5th.

Only because RJ is hurt. Shead playing with IQ seems to help. So when Barrett comes back, then what. I hate to say it, but this is going to be a situation where Quick either continues his improved play without Shead, or it becomes a him or RJ situation at the deadline. And there's little time left to decide based on play.

The question will be how they keep a pg in the floor with IQ when RJ comes back.

100%. Shead takes pressure of him to create for others. IQ is at his best off ball like last night to get open looks. He hit an insane clip over 80% from 3. This is how he should be used. I get darko trying to expand his PG duties to get better but it is what it is.

Not really. They let off the gas and GSW can hit 4 3s in a row to get back in anything. they settled back in. Got it back to 19 point lead and broke their backs with about 3 minutes left.

It's actually outrageous we're so close to 2nd with all the injuries we had this year and no C. I can't even remember when we had a fully healthy team.

Decided to skip the game and get some sleep cause I had a feeling we’d beat them since they have 0 size without Jimmy at the wing spot but man do I regret it now lol.

Watching IQ make history would have been fun as hell. What a game

Well done IQ - didn’t expect that from him. Hopefully he can build off of this performance

Why do people push this fake narrative that IQ has haters whenever he has a good game?

Have you been following Raptors media/forums/twitter at all this season?

Yeah wtf people trying to act like he doesn’t have haters is crazy

Yes and no… I agree quickley is better as a scorer than traditional pg. playing next to shead isn’t th reason he suddenly decided to make all the shots he’s been missing over the last stretch.

Dude hit open 3’s and created a lot of his own 2’s. The idea Shead “allows” IQ to do anything is insane lol

Not to mention, IQ had more assists than Shead did today to.

Thats just ridiculous, Barnes and Ingram are on a level of their own.

BI hasn't been great tbh.

He provides the 20+ points almost every game. The only thing I don't like in his game is sometimes he turns the ball over predictably.

He also provides 20+ points on meh efficiency.

We need his skill set, but he’s been far from great.

You can literally watch all his attempts. These are the same types of shots he takes every night, he just happened to hit his 3’s at a high rate like we expect him to.

This board can’t seem to analyze anything further than “SHEAD SHEAD SHEAD” though

Why don’t you like giving Shead credit?

Everyone sees it, even Alvin and the broadcast mentioned it

few things i think shead helps with:

1) picks up the harder defensive assignment so quickley can recover more/wont have to chase curry around
2) brings ball up court vs pressure so quickley won't be as tired from sprinting up the court
3) mentally he knows he is more needed as a scorer tonight/easier to get in a rhythm scoring

Yup all that. I think when Quickley is running the point, he’s thinking too much about getting others involved and generally running the team. He’s constantly battling with himself whether to shoot or pass as the PG in the starting 5. But with nights like these with Shead starting, IQ knows his role more of a scorer.
