Yup.
Sad times.

But 2 more days rest, I expect them back before the end of the road trip

Have you seen something positive Yak returning because I haven’t.

We haven't heard much besides one post by Grenge.

He was listed as questionable today.

I'm waiting until post all-star break before I throw in the towel. If all the guys are rested & back from Cancun and Poeltl's still not good to go, might as well shut him down for the year

I was thinking the other day about this, and in part this is probably because our team plays so much better this year. Ingram brought stability and significantly raised our floor (and our ceiling a bit, too, for sure).

I just went through the injury reporting in 15 minute increments and he was listed as out on every single one
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?

Please advise….

Gonna have to watch Mogbo again ugh lol
2019 Eastern Conference All Stars

Derozan
Lowry
Ibaka
Valanciunas
Van Vleet
Delon Wright
Lebron
Embiid

There are only 2 teams in the league that rank in the top 6 in offensive and defensive efficiency: the Golden State Warriors and the Toronto Raptors.

They don't have to be much, really. Just enough to be semi capable for a little while. Someone who ticks ALL the boxes won't be cheap or readily available anyway.

Neemias Queta, Day'ron Sharpe. I don't know why we struggled so hard to find a solid back up C. I guess we did try for Chomche and Koloko. Just freak health incidents.

It would be nice to trade for a solid back up C, playing 20-25 mins, if we are stuck with a injured Poeltl for another 5 years.

I mean even Queta got cut by Sacramento, same as Orlando Robinson.

One developed, the other didn't. When you are scraping he bottom of the barrel, your hit rate is extremely low.

But tbh - even if we had Quetas or Sharpe, IDK if we are any better off than we are with Mamu. People seem to sleep on the fact hes been one of the beset backup 5's in the entire leauge.

Yeah I feel like you used to get:

Jokic Nuggets
Lebron AD Lakers
Kawhi Clippers
Curry Warriors

and then probably the Sabonis/Fox Kings on a B2B or something

Oh, and end it with a "gimme" game vs a horrible Blazers teams that was the biggest damn trap game of all time.

He was never listed as questionable, that was just The Score's injury report defaulting to Game Time Decision.

Sure thing *shrug* Wasn't using The score as my source.. great app but never where I go for injury information.

Definitely has him as a player who's never going to play again like some of you are suggesting..

Sure, but in this specific moment, Boston's success on offense is being HEAVILY driven by ball protection and Queta's core skillset: offensive rebounding.

Mamu has been a delight for us. I think the ask is more to have someone to spell us for moments like this, when we have both Poeltl and CMB out, and to have some backup size in general for when there's foul trouble and all that. A legit 3rd big as opposed to a replacement for the guys we have.

Unless I'm mistaken, anyhow.

No you are probably right, but at that point you are asking for 3 higher level center options when most teams barely have 2.

it is just a luxury that next to no one has. Which is why IMO it is annoying to continuously see it complained about. Our starter is out, and we have had 2 different types of backups (Mamu and CMB) actually do quite a respectable job of filling in.

Seriously - how many teams can lose their starting C and NOT see a significant drop in production?

The Raptors never officially labeled him as a GTD. It is just some **** going on with the source of the API.

I mean, if you're looking at someone like Queta, I agree.

If we're back to talking about Yves Missi, though, it becomes less so. Frankly, I think we should have just kept Orlando Robinson. He might not be amazing, but he's at least not 6'7, and that has its value in small bursts and when we're injured.

Seriously - how many teams can lose their starting C and NOT see a significant drop in production?

None. We have been faced consistent issues with starters missing games, so our seasonal success is pretty impressive overall. At least to me.

But it wouldn't be hard for us to just KEEP one of these 10-days on the roster for the remainder of the season while we know that Yak is gonna be consistently missing games, you know? Robinson, Mo Bamba, whomever. Then we never have to see Mogbo play, ever again.

I don't think we are asking for 3.
Mamu is a 4 masquerading as a 5, same as CMB.

He's obviously a legitimate small ball option, but when Yak is injured (which is inevitable) we don't have a single 7 footer on the roster (or close to).

It's poor team construction, and it's costing wins this year for sure.

The thing is, we don't need a 7-footer. That's just a number, an easy to process anthropometric trait.

We need someone with actual size. That could be a guy who is 6'10, well-built with good reach. The difference between 6'10 and 7'0 isn't one of huge consequence if the reach is similar. You can rebound and contest shots well enough at 6'10. You add a +4 wingspan or better with decent mobility and effort and you're in good shape.
