How good is Williams? I admit to deflating a bit seeing he's 5'7 -- I know height doesn't necessarily correlate to useful skills in baseball, but we always seem to be enamored by 'up the middle' approach-type guys who are less than physically impressive.

So, how good are these prospects? Are we looking at future all star potential for either of them?

He's good at everything. He's produced at levels at least two or three years above where he should be playing. He had an OPS over .800 in the upper minors at the same age Durbin was hitting .650ish in rookie ball.

As for Sproat, he's got a four pitch mix, has hit triple digits, and carries the velocity deep. Can't wait to see what the Brewers staff can do with him.

Jett Williams was just ranked the #30 prospect in MLB by Pipeline

We just got some. Jett's 17 home runs would have ranked 4th in the system. He ranked #9 in extra base hits in all of MiLB last year.

Does this mean we may not have to watch Ortiz try to take ABs anymore?

Love this trade. Sproat has all the stuff you want, the pitching lab will be perfect for him to fine tune it.

I know everyone wants a new SS, but we have Pratt and Made coming soon. Think CF might be the better spot for Williams to claim here.

It'll be fun to watch the new guys help the club as soon as this year.

Seems like a couple decent prospects. Williams #30 and guessing Sproat is just outside the top 100.

Sucks to lose Freddy, great dude he seemed like too, but its the game we have to play. Have to cash out when you can.

Jett was #1 in the Mets system and #18 overall in Law's top 60 update in September.

Williams is healthy again this year and raking, hitting .291/.399/.495 so far in Double A as a 21-year-old. He takes a huge swing for a little fella, but he makes it work with enough strength and superb strike zone awareness. He’s a natural shortstop with a move to second or center always on the table, especially with Francisco Lindor in front of him, so he’s played a little at those positions and shouldn’t have trouble transitioning to either spot. Center is the better bet since he’s a plus runner, while his bat will profile as an above-average regular at any of those spots.

Like the sounds of it so far. Hope we see them both this year, but Williams especially.

100% agree trading Freddy is the right move. I trust Arnold made the best deal possible.

Really need the young pitchers to stay healthy and produce now.

Interesting that the Mets were apparently balking at Williams and Sproat and they ultimately caved.

I hope Freddy pitches when they're here in July. I'd like to pay my respects.

Seems like the overall opinion is the Brewers did very well. There is also a strong segment that say we’re cheap and makes no sense a 97 win team is trading their ace. I guess I understand that too.
