It works but it's pointless. We need two playable guys. And the salary difference between Queta and Zubac isn't worth the upgrade (?) we'd get.

Brad then makes another move to get a guy like Landale.

That's just an example.

The Cs are not restricted to just 1 move because they still have the KP TPE.

Fair enough. I just don't see the value in spending on Zubac instead of Queta. I'd rather have Queta's next few years (and salary) instead of Zubac.

Yeah, I agree.

Just showing how a Simons trade to the Clips would work.

I still prefer just trading Boucher and Tillman for Sharpe.
Will Brad include a 1st round pick is the question because the Nets are asking for one.

So if it is legit that Simons is connected to the Clippers who or what would we get back? If they are trying to win now it wouldn’t be Zubac. So what assets of theirs would we be interested in?

Can't see the Clippers dealing Zubac unless they're getting a good center in return plus another good player.

The Clippers lens on any trade has to be: "don't get worse this year".

2 Separate Trades

Simons and Queta for Zubac, Dunn, and Batum

Celtics then trade Batum and a 1st round pick for Day'Ron Sharpe

Just as a tangent: I like that Celts come armed with our own pick (#24 presently), Pels 2nd (#31) and Mil 2nd (#39) going into this deadline

I'd be interested in trying to peel off a 2029 FRP (which has been a long term goal of mine, lol)
I wonder if a tax team with a tradeable first would trade a 2029 FRP for our 2026 1st plus our "best of" NOP/MIL 2nd and us taking a small bad contract they need to dump.

Acquiring a '29 first would let us then trade '28, '30, & '32 if we want to use Simons contract to go after a big fish (Lauri, JJJ, Bam, etc)

edit: pipedream would be White and Simons plus a boatload of firsts and Go Get Steph Curry if he's willing to come and win another couple!

Simons + young wing (Scheierman or Walsh) + a 1st + a swap

seems quite a bit familiar

Josh Richardson + Romeo + a 1st + a swap

I might have to discuss my attachment to Walsh in therapy. I don’t think we should be trading him. Feels a lot higher ceiling than Romeo. I probably felt the same about Romeo lol.

Wherefore is he these days?

Zubac gives you that low post threat that Queta is not right now.

Queta is a better shot blocker than Zubac.

Zubac is a bigger body that can bang with the likes of Mitchell Robinson and Duren.

Queta is more mobile than Zubac.

Zubac is also an elite rebounder.

Guess it will depend on Brad's assessment of Zubac.

Celtics are not going to trade Queta for Zubac, it totally defeats the purpose. Celtics need both. The report says Clippers want Simons.

This year anyway. Queta has been better than Zubac. I don’t trade Queta unless it’s a clear upgrade…and that’s a short list.

Zubac is a Jeff Schwartz/ Excel client, so I believe the rumors to be true and confirmed of course by Scal.
I believe that Jordan Walsh would be involved in that trade, someone that Van Gundy might value when he served as our consultant. His aggressive defensive philosophy makes Walsh an appealing trade option for the Clippers.
I also will go as far to say that if Brad trades for Zubac, expect him to sign an extension down the line just like when Brad traded for KP and Jrue.
Playoffs are about matchups. Kris Dunn would be an incredible fit to guard the likes of SGA, Brunson, Jamal Murray, etc.
In the same vein, Zubac would be an incredible fit to guard Duren, Jokic, Hartenstein, etc.
Lastly, Celtics fans would love having Batum, versatile 3D guy similar to a version of big Al.
Plus, the biggest reason for Brad to make these moves, you want playoff tested players a la Zubac and Batum, not Queta and Walsh.
Clippers do this trade to get younger and more athletic, especially with older stars like Harden and Leonard. Win win for both teams.

I'm not trading Queta, zero chance, he's improving every game and were right back to square one by adding and subtracting a Center. I'm sure Brad will have wayyyyy better options then unloading Queta. C's can't afford to subtract at the 5, going to need our BIGs

Agree.

Just showing what it would take for the Clips to get Simons.

Zubac doesn't fit our system, at all. Sure in a vacuum having him would help, but not at the cost it will take to get him.

Reason why Queta is not needed if the Cs got Zubac is because Zubac is a legit 30 minutes per game guy.

That's of course if Brad feels Zubac is an upgrade over Queta.

And if the Cs swap Queta for Zubac, Brad will have to make another move to get a 3rd Center.

Zubac, Garza, and another Center will be the ideal scenario.

Again, that's if the Cs are trading for Zubac.

If Brad feels comfortable with Queta playing playoff minutes then I don't think Zubac to the Celtics is happening.

He absolutely does what???????

His screening and short-roll passing would be insane in this offense. The problem is the cost like you said, but his fit here is amazing
