RJ and CMB being questionable is great news. Jakobe being day to day hopefully doesn't means a month like it did with RJ
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?

Please advise….

Yakub staying in toronto means his back is done lol.

I think this is why the Sabonis rumours are heating up

Poeltl should retire if he's that cooked and we should be able to void his contract?

If his back is that bad to the point where he can't play professional basketball. Then yes his contract can be removed from the salary cap.

He's probably here to enroll at George Brown, now that his career is over.

Im not 100% but from what I read, Poeltl may have gone on the trip, and then came back to see the specialist. I don't think they left him back, but honestly if they did it would have made more sense than having him fly across the country for no reason if his back is messed up. But nothing with it really makes much sense. Like Darko saying he just needs two weeks rest, then playing him for no reason and preventing an easy way to give him two weeks around the NBA cup. And he's had like 4 weeks now and seems further away from playing than ever before. Darko really just tells people what they want them to think and are not really moored in, or all that interested in truth.

Wonder if we can get an injury exception for Poetl if he's out for the year.

I don't think it is super crazy. If he is only guaranteed 5m in his final year then the value of the last 4 years is about 82m and you can stretch that over 9 years. Depending what this specialist says they might have to consider this.

Yak was definitely on the bench when the road trip started and has been sent home. That they took him on the trip to me signals that they were holding out hope that he might be available at some point soon, which means they don't think it is a major issue. However that they sent him home signals that they don't see any progress and are at a loss what to do about it going forward, hence the specialist.

Or possibly he also saw someone while in LA and instead of him spending time on a bus and more flights, just send him home if he wasn't going to play....and see specialist in TO.

Who really knows.

But if he's done and hypothetically a trade is accepted, wouldn't Poeltl still have to pass a physical?

I believe teams can waive a physical for an incoming player. They could do that if they understand they're trading for that player's contract and not expecting them to play.

Might be an angle where we tell the Kings they can probably end up waiving him.
