Wasn't Durant roughly a bigger McGrady with Dirk-level shooting?

Hard disagree. Not remotely similar prospects in terms of tiers of "unicorn".
I do think AJ and Peterson are beginning to separate themselves, at least for me, but I still have Peterson #1 fairly comfortably.
In terms of drafting a player 1 overall.. he is imo. .even if hes not WEMBY LEVEL.. he's in the Kyrie.. AD.. Wemby.. Ant.. Cade.. type of prospect for a #1 pick.. Peterson is not.. and i really like his game.. but he's not that type of 1/1 type of prospect..
he definitely is
Foes..you DO realize I don't see your posts....right?

He was always seen as a supersized Ray Allen early on. Once his defensive presence came. Expectations climbed.

If you’re saying DP is “less unique” than AJ, I completely agree. But if you’re also saying “uniqueness” is some kind of leg up or requirement for a #1 overall pick, I disagree completely. You’ve just got to be great at what you do, and do important stuff.
Peterson looks like a great scorer and great defender. Maybe he’ll become a great playmaker instead of just a great shot creator, maybe he won’t. Kobe never really focused on playmaking either, and he was still an ATG. I’m not saying DP is gonna be Kobe, but that’s the kind of player he looks like, and the ceiling he’ll be reaching for. Not unique, it’s been done, but that doesn’t matter.
Dybantsa is potentially what, a bigger McGrady? Certainly not something we’ve seen, but I think he has further to go to reach his ceiling than Peterson, and is less likely to get there. I like a good swing for the fences pick as much as anyone, and there are perhaps teams that would be wise to pick AJ over Darryn, but, without any information about who is picking and what they already have, DP seems like the better pick to me. In numbers terms, I think he’s a floor 7 and ceiling 9, expected value 8. Dybantsa is like floor 5, ceiling 10, expected value 7.5. And yes, that’s just making up numbers that seem like they fit.
Plays more like a bigger Kobe than McGrady.

Disagree.. I think he's going to have trouble turning the corner in the NBA.. He's shifty and can shoot and pass, so he should be fine.. but never know. Peterson reminds me of a bigger OJ Mayo.. so regardless, he will be an above avg starter.

Does anyone happen to have a link to a full recording of the Texas Tech game?

I really hope whoever has the #1 pick doesn't overthink things. Take this guy. Scoring is king in the NBA.

How McGrady is to Iverson, Iverson got the pitbull dog in him to T-Mac poodle style is how AJ is to Kobe, Kobe got that snake like killer in him though whereas AJ is an sniper. He just on the roof and boom! You're gone!

Peterson is the best scorer though.
Peterson: 47 Points on 63 TS%
Dybansta: 40 Points on 63 TS%

not really. byu and kansas both played today. dybantsa scored 43, peterson scored 0. you know what they say is the best ability. peterson's body might be broken. it also may just be bad luck - but damn, dude can't stay on the floor.

Yeah, like most people I had Peterson at #1 before the season started. But his on the court off the court stuff is getting annoying. I'm still taking Peterson 2 or 3 but give me the guy who's actually played every day.

There’s no wrong answer on who to take #1 overall between these two, but using freshman injury woes as the main deciding factor as anything other then a coin flip is ridiculous.

Re: AJ Dybantsa
I think the closest comparison I see for AJ is Paul Pierce.

If AJ were thick, less athletic, two inches shorter in height, and about 4 inches shorter wingspan.
