The Orioles' Erik Bedard told the Baltimore Sun on Saturday that he expects to be traded and is disappointed that the team hasn't made a better effort to sign him to an extension

I think this rumour has been floating around for awhile now. The chances of the Jays getting Bedard is slim to none. It was rumoured a few weeks ago that Burnett could be a possible trade bait, but it makes absolutely no sense for the Orioles - especially trading a quality young arm to a rivalry team in the same division. I have a big feeling he'll still be around in an Orioles uniform come April. Either that, or he'll be in the National League.

What do you mean by "any time soon"? I keep hearing from O's fans that they think he will sign with the Jays when he is a free agent in 2 years.

just cuz hes canadian we have to get him

hes a great player no doubt but i hate how we need to sign cuz hes canadian

its not gonna bring anyone to the skydome

wat happened to koskie

1. its not because hes Canadian.

2. he is a very good pitcher, and is available for trade (not sign)

Orioles management isn't Babcock. They won't trade a Cy Young calibre pitcher to a division rival.

Imagine if we get him without giving up Rios or any of the 4 pitchers.
Maybe Lind, Janessen and Snyder?

Burnett
McGowan
Marcum

We could make things scary for the Yanks and Sox.

Well the reason were not winning 100 games is because we havent made moves lke this that makes us a winner and made them fast enough.

So if we could we would defintaly be an amazing team but we havent.

What would you propose we give him then? Rios for Bedard would have been a no-brainer.

None of this matters. The Orioles were absolutely not going to trade Bedard within their own division as reported just today by the Globe.
