Re: PG: Knicks vs. Pacers: Gross
The Jimmy Butler "incident" in Minnesota where he blew up at KAT and Wiggins etc. for not competing hard enough, then beat them in a scrimmage with the 3rd stringers. That keeps happening to KAT--looks bad against guys who just compete harder, smarter.

Not worried about him because the effort is always there.
He’ll be fine.

Friday in Detroit the world was ending. Sunday in Boston all was right with the world. Tonight it's doom and gloom again

We need to do anything we can to swap out this soft attitude and get some killers on this soft team. I'd even trade for someone like a washed Draymond next year at least he can hate and hold a grudge.
i'm 100% certain the majority of these guys don't circle anything or take anything that serious. they probably don't even care about game 1 against the pacers last year the way fans do.
soft is probably the right word but it's moreso just indifference. like the opposite of the kobe/jordan mentality. these guys are friends with hali don't view it as an actual rivalry the way us fans do.
I agree, and we know this is a NBA-wide trend -- but I think this team is even more passive/indifferent than other modern tier 1/2 teams. They don't hold grudges, or take issue with lucky bounce choke signs or lame hoodies, or look to shut up Haliburton who was just on national media for some reason saying that 2024 wasn't really about injuries, and that they are "very comfortable" against us.
But we would be a better team if they did. Three years in a row of their guards and role players feeling this smug and confident against us, low stakes games and all. This was a good year to go 4-0 against them, demoralize them a bit while they are down, trying to average 20 pt wins.
Whether Knicks players hold negative memories about the Pacers, the Pacers players have awesome memories against us. I guess time will tell, but I think a more serious team would want to hold grudges in this situation.

Can't have KAT go 1-6 on 3's. He's our 2nd all star (or used to be). he's got to shoot the 3 at league average.
All the other complaints are right, JB, Shamet.
But Kat not playing like a real #2, like an all star, is the biggest problem. Especially since our other players are not shot creators. OG gets, hot, Mikal, even Hart sometimes. But your second option, second Allstar has to be better.
There goes my hero. Watch him as he goes.

Re: PG: Knicks vs. Pacers: Gross
this is how I feel about brunson vs the pacers...his determination is part of what makes Brunson such a dominant offensive player.
But KAT had Potter on him...that has to be the matchup we pick on. Too much down the stretch in the 4th and OT was just Brunson trying to do too much vs there better defenders...sometimes he wasn't even asking for screens and just ISO'ing.
5-peat! 22-26 BAF Champion Spurs:
ROSTER
Walker Kessler/Neemias Queta
Chet Holmgren/Isaiah Stewart/Mamu
Jaden McDaniels/Josh Hart

yea it seems like when he is guarded 1 on 1 he thinks trying to score is the only option.
i don't get why they still can run some actions/movement to get the defense scrambling and then attack instead of the slow mo iso

Should have used Mitch tonight to secure the win then flipped a coin tomorrow. They made another calculated risk by sitting him tonight…

Re: PG: Knicks vs. Pacers: Gross
Lack of urgency. No effort against a bad team. Giving up wide open shots all game.
Inexplicable subs from brown. Why tf is clarkson getting 12 minutes when he was just getting DNP’s prior to the Jose trade? There is zero rhyme or reason to that. Okay we make the Jose trade, okay kolek minutes go down. Most of us expected that. But how do Kolek minutes go down but clarkson minutes GO UP? What is going on there????
Towns. Stupid fouls. The usual.
Brunson. Too much hero ball. We went on a 7 game streak where he was averaging like 22 points a game. Everything was flowing, ball was moving. Then he dropped 40 against Denver and ever since then it’s back to doing too much, getting 30+ but games are harder than they need to be. Especially this game down the stretch. Your shots are hitting front rim, you are tired like you usually are playing the pacers, yet you keep shooting. We had multiple opportunities to pull away in the 4th but he took two terrible shots and made some bad decisions.
Garbage L all around

Re: PG: Knicks vs. Pacers: Gross
1. This team has shown glimpses of greatness like the win on Sunday in Boston holding them to 89 points
2. Then like games like tonight or losses against Detroit they have embarrassing losses
3. The front office is not taking the regular season as seriously as they have in the past
4. KAT and Brunson still aren’t in sync
5. Still have no clue if brown is doing anything that Thibs couldn’t be doing
6. We truly have no idea how the playoffs will go, will they be the team from Sunday, or the team from tonight
