TBF, Siakam is a hard cover for anyone not OG. Also, let's not act like Brown watched film last game against them and saw how Kolek burned them, yet he didn't play him this game.

Losing sucks... losing to that team really sucks.

If shamet or Brunson hit their shots in crunch time we win yet its still nasty that theyre down key players and we lost.

Forces me to temper my expectations which I dont like. I want to delusionally fantasize about us winning a chip this year.

Tuesday’s defeat wasn’t just another blemish on the Knicks’ record, but, according to Hall of Fame coach Phil Jackson, it was also the night New York officially renounced itself as a team that can truly contend for an NBA title. Jackson’s “40-20” theory states that if a team wins 40 games before it suffers 20 losses, it’s a championship contender. The Knicks dropped to 34-20 after falling to Indiana.

Jackson’s logic has a few flaws, including that it doesn’t account for injuries, but it has generally rung true. Since the NBA adopted the 3-point line for the 1979-80 season, while not counting shortened seasons (whether because of work stoppage or the pandemic), only four teams have won the NBA championship without winning 40 games before losing 20: the 1994-95 Houston Rockets, the 2003-04 Pistons, the 2005-06 Miami Heat and the 2020-21 Milwaukee Bucks. Going back further, since the NBA expanded to an 82-game regular-season schedule for the 1967-68 season, only five more teams (1967-68 Boston Celtics; 1974-75 Golden State Warriors; 1976-77 Portland Trail Blazers; 1977-78 Washington Bullets; and 1978-79 Seattle SuperSonics) have made Jackson look silly.

I can’t say I noticed MO’s minutes being bad yesterday but I certainly noticed Hukporti. I’m kinda bummed out about Huk. Not that I thought he was anything more than a 3rd big but he used to have random impactful games and that just hasn’t happened this season. Momentum pretty much always ends up with our opponents the minute he steps on the floor. He’s an even worse defender than Kat and doesn’t really offer any rebounding or shot blocking. It’s strictly cardio for him.

Gonna read up on the 77-78 bullets to kindle some hope.

In all seriousness were too poor of a defensive team with the Brunson and kat pairing to win it all. I was hoping they would be so good offensively that it would supersede the defensive problems but they just arent symbiotic enough on that side to overcome their deficiencies.

Still theyre really good and entertaining but it is what it is...

over the course of 82 you will have games where effort is not always there especially defensively. Its also a lot of pressure when 3 of your best defenders are all out injured.

We still should have won the game but our typically very reliable captain had a rough 4th and OT...it happens. Move on...at the end of the day I take more from games against BOS ect or other quality teams than these games in Feb.

Still shouldn't have come down to late in 4th and OT if we were more connected defensively. We gave them too many open looks early and then they started making some tougher shots late. I'm not as worried about pacers record they have 3/5 of there starting Finals team still playing who took OKC to 7 games. They have good players when they are all playing. But we let them get into whatever they wanted early.

If anything might not be the worse thing...if the Pacers get a top 3-4 pick and bring back Hali and Zubac that will be a really tough team to beat...anything to keep them from getting a top pick!

It’s really this year or bust for the Brunson era!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

With the return next season of Hali and Tatum that puts the Celtics, pacers, pistons,Cavs and even possibly the wizards ahead of us for sure!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We will likely be a play-in team next year as currently constructed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It’s truly now or never!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sucks cause the expectations were high coming in but compared to where weve been this century its still one of the best teams weve watched.

And I'd be lying if I didnt admit there is still a sliver of hope that they can get hot during the playoffs to make a legitimate run even though I feel silly typing it.

I'm not happy with the loss but, it just seems like the Pacers are clearly fake tanking. They couldn't miss to start the game. We were scoring too but, the 3 ball was keeping them in the game.

Regardless of this game, we are going to need a full squad to reach the finals. We need OG. We need Deuce. We also need to play Kolek and move on from JC. He's useless if he's not dominating the ball and taking a lot of shots. He's not a good bench player in limited minutes/role. Go away.

Starters thought they only needed to show up against a bottom feeder, totally heard their praises after the Boston massacre. But we aren't good enough for that on defense and had the Pacers running circles around our vaunted D. Hope they learn from it.

We are a different team with a healthy OG...and it certainly helps have Mitch play too. We will be fine.

I love the winning and hate the losing like everyone else. The 40/20 "rule" is a fine theory but, it's not a real rule and it's not a guarantee. If that's true then only 3 teams have a chance to win the title. DET/OKC and the Spurs if they can get 3 more wins before they lose 4 more games. Everyone else can go home now.

I hate losing to the Pacers. Fake tanks will get wins when they want to apparently.

The Knicks are very close and I won't say that they can't win it all but, we need everyone healthy for me to have any confidence come playoffs.
