Re: 2026 NBA DRAFT CLASS
I like Shelton Henderson a decent bit.
Shares a lot of similarities as a prospect to Isaac Okoro. Plays with a poise that's rare for a guy that big and athletic.
Longer and stronger that Okoro but has that same rigidity to their lateral movement that makes them a bit more limited defensively than you'd think based solely on their tools.

similar archetype as stanley johnson. how many dudes are there who have had recent success that are built like these guys?
6'5-6'6" 240+ just seems like a difficult place to be in today's league.
johnson probably had more skill/potential as a shooter and lack of shooting was still a big part of his downfall in the league. he shot 37% from three, 74% FTs.
Henderson at 28% 3pt and 58% FT. eek.
ultimately, i do like Henderson as a college basketball player - almost certainly plays college ball next year, i think.

Re: 2026 NBA DRAFT CLASS
A guy that compares closely to Okoro and Stanley Johnson doesn't really get me excited about drafting them.

Do any psychos here have opinions on Tarris Reed Jr or Rylan Griffen?

Reed is the next Trey Jamison. Make of that what you will.

In what sense?
Reed is significantly better in college.

Do you think Reed is an actual prospect? He seems like he could have a solid career as a third string center I guess. UCONN doesn't really run any set plays for him down low. Seems like all his offensive production is second chance points.

I like his mobility at his strength for a center. Mostly a backup center, correct. He has some face-up and post-up game, which shows some ability; it isn't like he is a complete nothing offensively.
Maybe he doesn't get drafted, but I like him as a 2nd round pick.

Caneman786 wrote:With this game, Cameron Boozer passes Zion Williamson in Bart-Torvik's database for the HIGHEST SINGLE-SEASON BPM in NCAA D1 Men's College Basketball history (going back to the 2008–09 season. Not just among freshmen, but any player.
*Including any player who played at least 3% of their team's minutes in a season.
Cameron Boozer's Bart-Torvik BPM is now 18.8
Leaderboard (top 5)
18.8 - Cameron Boozer, Duke Freshman Forward in 2026
18.7 - Zion Williamson, Duke Freshman Forward in 2019
16.6 - Anthony Davis, Kentucky Freshman Forward in 2012
15.8 - Sindarius Thornwell, South Carolina Senior Guard in 2017
15.5 - Zach Edey, Purdue Senior Center in 2024
Caneman786 wrote:Cameron Boozer is also now shooting over 40% from downtown, having made 42 out of 103 three-pointers, which is good for .408
This is higher than Darryn Peterson's current value of .405 (47/116).
Even when he shoots over 40%, though, Boozer is still more efficient by points per possession inside the arc, where he still is shooting .647 on the season.

Re: 2026 NBA DRAFT CLASS
Quoted from Darryn Peterson thread: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=2418427&p=121230050#p121230050
Caneman786 wrote:Darryn Peterson played 30 minutes in Kansas Jayhawks' 69-56 victory over the Houston Cougars.
With that, he now has played over 40% of his team's minutes for the first time since November 7, 2025. Over three and a half months ago.
This qualifies him for being viewed by default on Bart-Torvik's interface.
With that, we can view his Bart-Torvik BPM, which is +11.7.
This ranks #9 in the country and #6 among freshmen (after Cameron Boozer, Caleb Wilson, Allen Graves, Keaton Wagler, and Kingston Flemings).
Peterson still edges AJ Dybantsa (who is #10 nationally and #7 among freshmen) by 0.1 points on BPM, as Dybantsa has +11.6.
As for normal NCAA D1 leaderboards and basketball-reference's leaderboards, Peterson will never be able to get on them, having already missed 12 games. A player needs to have played in at least 75% of his team's games to qualify for any of these. Even with that, here are his advanced statistics in four major advanced statistics.
Bart-Torvik BPM:
+11.7 BPM (#9 among all players, #6 among freshmen)
+8.7 OBPM, +3.0 DBPM
College-Basketball-Reference BPM
+13.3 BPM (if he qualified, this would be tied for #5 among all players, #3 among freshmen)
+9.4 OBPM, 3.8 DBPM
EvanMiya BPR (400 possessions is the qualifying limit and Peterson has reached that)
+7.29 BPR (#67 among all players, #13 among freshmen, #2 on his team after Flory Bidunga)
+4.63 OBPR, +2.66 DBPR.
Hoop-Explorer Luck-Adjusted RAPM (Peterson qualifies for leaderboard)
+5.0 RAPM (#233 among all players, #39 among freshmen, #3 on his team after Flory Bidunga and Melvin Council Jr.)
+3.9 Offensive RAPM, +1.2 Defensive RAPM
It's notable that he is a lot worse in the RAPM-based metrics, especially BPR, where his plus-minus data hasn't been as impressive as his box score data.
He also edges Dybantsa in College-Basketball-Reference's BPM by 0.1, just like he does in Bart-Torvik.

Re: 2026 NBA DRAFT CLASS
It's February, we need to knee jerk as always.
I'm moving Boozer to the #1 locked until draft. Nothing will change this now.
I have Peterson at 2, Wilson at 3, Dybantsa at 4, Fleming at 5, Wagler at 6. That completes tier 1 of this draft. I would be comfortable drafting any of these players as #1 in an average draft.
1. Boozer
2. Peterson
3. Wilson
4. Dybantsa
5. Flemings
6. Wagler

I think the top 6 is pretty much set in stone. As much as it can be in February. I got the same guys, just different order.

Next tier, many more question marks - Ament, Acuff, Steinbach, Burries, Philon, Brown Jr.

Arenas should’ve sat out this year and rested his knee.

Fleming is not a lock for me this high.
I could see myself having Acuff, Mikel or Philon over him by the end of the year.
Houston lost 3 in a row and Fleming been just alright during that stretch.

Also Ament is still in the mix as a 6-10 wing, which is a lot harder to find than a 6-3 or 6-4 point guard.

Re: 2026 NBA DRAFT CLASS
I have Ament solidly as #5 with a chance to move into #4.
He is just too skilled at 6'10 to pass up for one of the handful of 6'2-6'4 guards IMO. I suppose need could play here but Ament is posting numbers at a size that in other classes would have him solidly Top-3. Ya, his FG% and 3PT% need work but the form is there IMO - love the high release. Alot to work with there. Gets to the line, rebounds, passing is actually surprisingly solid (2.5apg vs, say, Ace last year at 1.3).

Ament doesn't get to the rim or shoot 3s well. Turnovers and assists are roughly equal. He has put up stats against .500 teams. The last two games against winning teams he wet the bed. Not impressed
