Yeah cool stats, but the guy doesn't watch the games and is taking a very simple view on two players with LaMelo or without LaMelo.

Meanwhile Brandon is often on the court as the only starter bouying a bad 2nd unit. Sure Kon might not play with Melo sometimes but he is often times playing with other starters such as Brandon and Miles for those stints. It is less often you see Kon running the show with 2nd units.

You mean you don't know how to cross reference MOREY with CrunchPERBM in games where his LEBRON overrides the timedecay OFFGravity? Especially when his Outer USG rate spikes while Melo is in his reverse BPM and EPM during high USG% nights?

poster with a hawks avi thinks the hornets should move on from their ascending 2-way wing player. seems legit

Maybe it looks that way but Kon's played 57 games this year to Miller's 41 and Melo's 48. Seven of Kon's games came with both Miller and Melo out, and Kon plays more minutes per game than either Miller or Melo. Also, of the Hornets' top ten line-ups by minutes played, two have Kon playing with both Miller and Melo sitting. If anyone's stats look depressed from playing with one or both of the big 3 out, it's Kon's.

Not saying I agree the Hornets should cut Miller loose, that's crazy. But it helps make the case Miller hasn't done enough to earn the max just yet.

I don’t think anyone wants to pay Miller the max, but at the very least he is a good 2 way starting level wing.

Would be crazy to “move on” from him unless something definitely great is coming back. I doubted him at the start of the season with his injury trouble and he made me eat crow.

Do we need to talk about Brandon's turnovers? Averaging 3.8 over the past 10 games, and up to 2.9 per game for the season.

let him go thru the growing pains now
lets see what he can handle in terms of on-ball reps
will greatly factor in to his next contract
is he on paul george or trey murphy path?

Still inconsistent, but he is our best player in a playoff series I think. Or our worst either way he is a major swing guy to how competitive we can be.

Yeah I'd agree in a playoff setting he's probably the least likely of the three to get completely shut down by the other team either aggressively doubling them or putting their best wing defender on them. And clearly the best two way player of the three.
In a playoff series though, I don't think we could Survive a series where the other team is able to take Lamelo out of the offense. And that's definitely going to be the case if we end up versus Detroit. We'd have a better chance versus Boston or Cleveland or knicks Where at least some of the lesser defensive perimeter oriented players in their lineups would have to at least match up on one of our 3. Who is Brunson guarding? Who are Harden and Mitchell going to guard? Who is Payton going to guard? Then again I have no idea what we look like against Boston since we haven't faced them yet this year. Will be interesting when we play them later this week. Where almost identical statistically over the past two months. We turn the ball over a little bit more rebound a little bit better and shoot a higher percentage 3 but otherwise we're so statistically similar

I am not really afraid of Detroit, they only real offensive guy they have is Cade. I would be willing to bet Duren and Tobias Harris not beating me for 4 games.

My fear with Detroit is that the league somehow is pushing the Cade narrative for MVP and for some reason wants to have super physical finals between them and OKC where they just foul the **** out of each other for seven games. I suspect the refs will swallow the whistle if we play Detroit. Then again that's probably the reverse case if we play Brunson or Harden and the refs just let them parade to the free throw line 15 times a game.

No matter who we play it will be a tough series, I just think I would live by Tobias Harris being the 2nd leading scorer or Duren has to beat us. Either way I would rather do that than have to deal with 5 good Knicks or 3 good Celtics.

Everyone so caught up in the Kon hype, people forget Miller is also a rising star.

It's kind of scary the young talent we have now. Who knew them just staying healthy would make such a huge difference in team success.

Brandon Miller's usage on offense is interesting to me. they're almost developing him outside of the "offense" so it look weird sometimes in games. it will seem like he's killing the vibe or doing something else entirely. I think it's specifically for his skillset and to have that club in their bag, come down the stretch or in the playoffs. he's got a big role and they're either really leaning on him or making designs to lean on him in the future.

He was awesome today. He was the goto player for creating his own offense when necessary. Like the Paul Pierce of the group.

I never tire of seeing him try to dunk on whoever is in his path. LJ, Crash, probably Miles, but then Miller is flying up the franchise in-game dunker list. I suppose Zo was dunking on people too, probably overlooking some of the old timers (Jones? Gill?), but struggling to place others ahead of him. Diabate flying up that list too. Love it.

Edit: signed up for a stathead acct. Data only goes back to 96-97. Regular season only(playoffs has only 33 entrants). Not sure if this link works, but: https://www.sports-reference.com/stathead/tiny/7A01K

Miles, Crash, PJ, Marvin, MKG, Hendo, Rice, Derrick Brown, Oubre are the wings currently ahead of Miller, who sits at 22 all-time. Kalkbrenner at 21 all-time with only 46 listed games played is impressive. Moussa already at 14, behind Cs Okafor, Cody, Biyombo, Richards, Mark, Plumlee, Campbell and Dwight.

That was an awesome dunk but I was worried he hurt himself. It would be very Hornetsy for us to lose a key guy right when things are finally looking up.
