LaMelo started 2nd half vs BOS in one of his putrid patches, Derek White scored 8 straight and the Hornets looked vulnerable. CLee pulled Melo for Coby who took charge and righted the flight path! Coby’s exactly what this Hive needed a worker bee to maintain the charge when Melo is out or in bumble bee mode

There are flashes where Coby looks like the better pure point guard. He’s not gonna do the LaMelo circus stuff, and he sees the court well. But that is only important in that he can be that good in reserve…LaMelo just needs to find that elusive professional groove where he can use his immense skills well and still have fun, without being a sideshow act.Coby, thanks for getting here brother!
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

He appears to be the backup point guard we needed.
Front office had him in the crosshairs for a good reason. My trust is growing

He’s going to be perfectly fine, but thus far he’s been pretty bad.

I really like Coby and want this to work out. His personality seems like a great fit. He seems to be pressing and is shooting 3s way below his career average so hopefully that reverts to his norm.

My main concern in his fit with the Hornets is usage, he can make nice plays but is clearly a natural scorer who thinks score first. JMAC alluded to usage in the Miles thread, I don't see Coby comfortable (yet) with the two man game that Melo and Kon and Brandon excel at. I think Coby will have to get comfortable with it as it appears a major part of the CLee offense. But I do think that for all he brings to the team in terms of scoring and potential playmaking he soaks up enough usage to present a period of adaptation for a couple of guys like Miles and Kon. Bears watching.

I know it was a long time ago now, but White didn't have quite this level of tunnel vision at UNC. He's also not a malcontent who demands shots, so I think he'll accept coaching on this. He has picked up bad habits on mediocre teams, as expected, but I'm optimistic he'll adjust his game.

We see him missing some games for us. My thoughts are he has played 36 games this season and LaMelo has played 56 for reference.

If he wants 30 mil I hope he gets it from somebody else.

There are going to be lots of talented guards in the draft and we have two picks. If I were the gm I would offer him like 10-12 mil per year and be prepared to find a cheaper option.

The last 3 years Coby has played 74, 79, and 74 games. Very unconcerned with his general ability to stay healthy.

Had his best Hornets game last night.

He clearly loves being here, these are not normal quotes:

Coby is a starter on most teams. It's almost unfair to have him coming off the bench.
