If you want to try to measure the elements of basketball that are supposedly unmeasurable, spend a game just watching Marc Gasol.

Who do we think has a brighter future? Aday Mara or Luigi Suigo?

Mara and Luigi are both R2 flyers like Zikarsky IMO - and personally I dont like either as much as him.

Until Mara can hit his FT I dont see a guy that can play decent minutes in the NBA, and thats before mobility concerns. At least Luigi has shown some shooting but I still cant buy either as having the movement skills for the big league.

Anyone else see gobert especially with his movement? Way better shooter obviously. Michigan just has a logjam at the big so he hasn’t shown half of what he can put up

He looks like a stiff to me. He's gotta go to the combine and scrimmage with NBA rules. Can't just camp in the paint all day without getting whistled for it. Does he have the mobility to show and recover or is he a pure drop coverage big?

Even a guy like Clingan, who has become a double double machine on the NBA level, when you watch him and Gobert in the same game, there is no contest who is better at protecting the rim and deterring guys from attacking the basket or getting wide open jumpers.

As soon as Clingan's man sets a high ball screen, it's an open jumpshot for the offensive player while he sinks deep back into the paint, more often than not.

Sprints, lane agility drills will tell the story on whether Mara can be more than a 15 minute per game backup.

Agree. He does look a little stiff to me. Also, with the build, it reminds me of Shawn Bradley. Hope his build can carry a few more lbs of muscle.

Do not draft. I’m telling you.

Great kid, nice passing, hard worker.

Stiff as a board, slow to react, easily gassed.

I’ll be very surprised if he carves out a significant NBA career. It’s possible, but not very likely.

sounds a bit like Boban, could only be used in the right situation off the bench, its a shame. i love my giants

id waste a second round pick on him if I had an available spot (charlotte don't and won't)

15mpg backup at best. He is just too clunky a mover. DC and Gobert are not sprinters but they have coordinated movements and sorta like alligators - they conserve their energy with little wasted movement (lol).

Mara has really high hips and a pretty odd body frame - I think thats really going to hurt him at the next level. Going back to DC / Gobert - these are 2 giants that physically are built like 'normal' humans - you could add Edey to that list too IMO.

Aday just isnt. More of a Boban type in his build IMO.

I love a seven footer that can pass but that skill isnt going to be enough IMO. Maybe if he was a 35% 3PT shooter or something but even then I just dont see a NBA caliber athlete.

Still expect him to go top-40 tho.

He’s having a good tournament. Good enough that someone may use a decent first on him. I’d advise against it. It’s a tough league for big slow dudes with no outside shot.

Yaxel and Morez are the good pros here.

Glad to see so many are seeing the backup at best athleticism like I’m seeing. His skills are a fun watch though. Wish he could move.

Didn't expect to see this guy drop a career high in points in a Final Four game.

With that size, and a developing offensive game, someone is going to take him in the first round. It's just too tempting. Whether it's the right choice or not.

I agree. And my opinion of the front office that does so will be lowered. He’s not Edey.

so happy for him. I know Mick Cronin was seething at home watching him go off when he was clueless how to utilize him at UCLA. Thing is, I think he might actually be able to shoot the three at the next level making him starter worthy if he can continue improving physically. Another year or two in the weight room and he could be fun to watch
