I think it's worth pointing out that the draft feels insanely stacked right now, but I wonder if the depth will thin out somewhat as guys might chase NIL money and a chance to bump up their stock from the 20s or 30s in the 2026 class with sights on the 2027 lottery.

The class does have a lot of older prospects though, who should keep the depth solid into the late 1st round as there's not redeeming value in returning or they might not even have eligibility (Yaxel Lendenborg, Bennett Stirtz, Joshua Jefferson). There are even more of these currently populating the second round, and I could see some of those others slide into the back of the first round.

My personal favorites are the "contrarian" boards. I mean, I like bold predictions, but maybe not putting Mirkovic in the top10.

Twitter big boards are some of my favorite forms of entertainment. These guys are so wild with their takes, but it generates a ton of clicks and negative comments. But..clicks equal clicks, no matter how they come. Guys know what they are doing.

Re: 2026 NBA DRAFT CLASS

Post#587 » by Chuck Everett » Fri Mar 13, 2026 6:55 am

So recently I've caught Oklahoma senior Tae Davis' play (career started at Seton Hall before two years at Notre Dame) against Texas in the regular season finale, then against South Carolina and Texas A&M tonight in the SEC tourney. He's a 6'9 215 wing with some legit ball handling skills and vision and he's wreaking havoc on both ends of the floor as the Sooners are now playing their best basketball of the season. I don't know if he's just breaking out or what, but all of a sudden he's shooting really well and looking like a matchup nightmare because of his versatility.

His perimeter shooting/free throw shooting still need work, but I wonder if there is something here like there was with Toumani Camara and Herb Jones, coming out of the SEC. He might be one of those guys who goes to Portsmouth or the G-League combine, who then gets promoted to the regular NBA combine. There are still a number of teams in this league who lack tall/oversized wings and could use them (i.e. Sacramento, Golden State, Oklahoma City, Chicago, Cleveland).

He's averaging: 12.3ppg, 5.7rpg, 2.2apg on 49% shooting.

I was all-in on Dailyn Swain before the season and it looks like this guy is going to get a first round guarantee from someone. I think Tae should easily be someone to take a flyer on for a two-way contract.

Anthony Roy, a shooting guard out of Oklahoma State is another one, although he's primarily an efficient microwave scorer, so the question becomes can he become a Lou Williams type (if that even still has value in this league)

Roy 6'5, 205, 17ppg, 40% from 3, 85% from the line.

Just some food for thought.

Does anyone else see a less athletic Jalen Johnson potential in Joshua Jefferson?

Acuff is getting some hype but I heard his defensive woes compared to Trae Young. Well if he can have the offensive impact of Trae, Acuff may put up some big offensive numbers, make some All Star teams, make a run to the ECF.

But ultimately the team which drafted him balked at giving him a big 3rd contract because despite the ECF run, there was little evidence that the Hawks would do better with him taking up a huge part of the cap.

A more recent comparison could be Dillingham? Though Acuff has shot the lights out this season. But it's one season.

Acuff is much better than Dillingham ever was. And is bigger and stronger, though still a bit undersized.

I liked Dillingham in the 2024 in large part because the class was so bad and he had a massive variance in his outcomes.

Acuff is a much better prospect.

Anyone think Wagler can play at a high pace in the league? Play PG of a high pace offense?

Boswell is an NBA player, right?

Not talking anything special in all likelihood, but like someone who plays 8-9 years averaging like 4 ppg?

I will haha. He just seems like he will be a decent backup for a long time. I am not expecting an amazing career, more like a Jevon Carter level player, probably a bit better.

We will see. I like him quite a bit, he can hit open shots and help run an offense. Basically what a team needs from a 15 minute a game 9th/10th man. I have him in the second round for sure, though.
