Where does JJ Redick rank among coaches?

2nd and 3rd in total minutes in the league since ASB are Luka and Reaves, LeBron is high up there, I'd say he hasn't learned his lesson from last year.

He coaches each game like its a playoff game. Very tactical. Lacks in putting together cohesive longer term strategy and doesn't put together long term sustainable solutions.

I have him in the bottom tier of coaches. He just happens to have the best offensive player in the world and is surrounded by the GOAT and another emerging star.

Will not be surprised if they lose in the first round.

Yeah, it really bothers me that he relies heavily on the greatness of Luka, Reaves and Lebron and yet many believe that he is such a genius at designing offensive schemes.
If this is the case, why not create 8-10 set plays for others so the big 3 can get more rests?
He has 2 of the best 3pt shooters in Rui and Kennard, (provide some screens for them and and set up Ayton, who has been really good taking those 10-12 footers.
I see Luka hobbling now from extreme wear and tear with his lower leg and groing issues while Austin had to sit like 25 games to rest his calf muscles before.

I'm not a huge fan of his personality, but I think he's been dealt a somewhat crazy situation to manage as a first-time head coach.

Started out shouldering the responsibility of the end phase of Bron's career along with AD and AR.

Before the All-Star Break, he's trying to map out how Bron, Luka, and AR can be effective together while Doncic is returning from injury and big-time out of shape.

I don't expect the results to be any different this postseason. They don't have the athletes to defend consistently. JJ can't overcome that.

The same goes for next season if they don't land 2 or 3 rotations players that can defend and hit enough 3s to keep defenders honest.

Luka getting injured isn’t bad luck, it’s inevitable. He’s not a strategic guy.

He just lets Luka and Lebron do what they want… so I guess somewhere in the middle of the pack… with that roster - Ayton, AR, Luka, Lebron and Rui - look at where these talents were drafted and how AR has bloomed… plus they got bronny… they should be top in the west and they are right there

He could grow into Pat Riley, Pat kept evolving. Right now he is below average in some areas and above in others. He is not going to be Nick Nurse his secret power will be dealing with big personalities like a Doc Rivers character.

He has done well with what he has. I wouldn't trust him with a Wemby. He's a great fit for LA I think he will be around for awhile.

If Luka is out for the 1st round, this will be two straight seasons characterized by JJ coaching mistakes. You have the absolutely horrible 1st round last year (Maxi Keliba!) and this year you have running Luka into the ground.

So far his coaching style reeks of ego and short sightedness.

Guess he gets a two more flame outs bc people like him.

He got exposed last playoffs. This regular season means nothing. We will see if he improved or not in a few weeks.

Isn't it ironic the Pat Riley in 1989 prior to the finals decided to force his team to attend a mini camp? They practiced so hard that both Scott and Magic ended up suffering hamstring injuries.

And I really thought he learned from the Dodgers that rested their players through out the season before ramping up a few days before the playoffs.
Both Lakers AND Houston had HCA last playoffs, both got eliminated.
HCA helps but up to what point?
