Duren might have more value based on his role. His ceiling is however just a good role player center.

Sengun has a decent shot at becoming a franchise player. He is so far ahead of Jokic's developmental curve that it is insane. Big with decent shooting, elite passing, passable defense and near 7 foot size is not someone you can just acquire every draft.

You can however try to draft a Duren every single year.

Duren the 1st player since Wilt to average 19+ PPG and 65+% FG% in a season making them the only two to ever do it. Wilt did it just once in 66-67 at 30 years old. Jalen Duren was 21/22 this season.

Duren joined Jokic as the only player ever to average 19+ PPG and 68+ TS% in a season.

Doesn't mean anything. You can just draft another Duren.

Duren fits in more team systems and doesn't need touches or a high usage in order to be effective. Sengun is kind of overrated. Sengun has better counting stats because he averages 5+ more mpg.

sengun is soft. dude might have better offensive stats and can raise your team's floor more than duren but he isn't built for playoff basketball. treadmill player, i'll pass

Is Duren playing himself out of a Max Contract right now if he can't bounce back in the next games? He is putting up 9/8,3/2 with 2 Blocks per game in nearly 31MPG. And he is also only 10/24 from the field. So he only makes slightly over 40% of his shots.

Maybe thats good for Detroits future cap wise and tbh I wouldn't give him more than Sengun per year. I'm actually not sure if he is worth the 47,85M AAV deal over 5 years, even if he bounces back.
