We need an OF, and Bullpen Help!

Post#1 » by Bklyn&company » Sun Feb 3, 2008 12:55 am

Jason Tyner(bring back the Met),Shannon Stewart(good vet would help), Corey Patterson (Check his stats, Crazy!!), Nook Logan(Speed/Defense Demon!) are all available. Not sold on Alou health(every year he gets hurt), Chruch could be OK, but someone needs to challenge him in ST.
If we have the money C.Patterson would be great.

Also check out Catcher, C Josh Bard(Good Numbers), not sold on our Catchers(weak hitters, but Castro good on defense)

Bullpen could use RP/Closer Bob Wickman but I think he still wants to close. But would help.

Omar, if you got money left get one/two of thse Guys.

bob wickman? he was cut by the braves, who need all the BP help they can get. LOLOL. our bullpen will be fine if willie uses it correctly.

Castro is not a weak hitter and Schneider is one of the best defensive catchers in baseball. As for the pen, it will be fine if Sanchez is healthy. Wickman is done by the way and if our pen could use him, it is terrible.

I like our pen makeup if everyone is assigned roles. For the bench, I'd like Kevin Mench.

our pen is probably ok. wickman is a fatass who thinks he's still a closer. i don't want him.

i think shannon would be a good addition. i would have LOVED to sign sean casey though...

 I thought the Subject was a typo until you repeated it in the post. The bullpen will be fine. I like Lofton. I know he's old but he still apears to have a lot left.

If Duaner is healthy for real and is able to give us 50-60 quality innings our bullpen will be ASTRONOMICALLY improved. Feliciano and Heilman wont need to be abused and we have guys like Wise and Shoenweis who can have very specific and defined duties. Plus, with Pelfrey likely starting in AAA, and the possibility of us signing Lohse/Livan, Sosa can focus on being a bullpen arm and nothing else.

The addition/health of Duaner will be absolutely key. Without him we will be just as miserable last year.

what if we tried to make a deal for Baldelli or Gomes from the Rays.

For the Bullpen though i think we should be ok. Smith will be better than last year. Mota is Gone and Wise is better the he was. Wags does what does, while Feliciano and Heilman set up will get better this year. This Register guy we got in the Rule 5 draft could be a surprise. Rudy Lugo may turn out to be a nice pick up also.

I think I'd sooner sign Lofton than make anther trade. Our minor league seems fairly depelated right now so I'm not sure who I'd give up for Baldelli or Gomes, both still young players so Tampa might want something real sent back to them.

Lofton can still play, he can hit lefty so he can spell Ryan Church if Church doesn't work out (personally I think CHurch will be fine) and Alou and Beltran can both rest more if we have a guy like Lofton on the roster. Lofton's on base percentage is better than most of our players, and he can still steal bases.

On the Pen, I agree with you. I think this team will be fine. We've stocked up on depth.

Wags - some knock him, but he's a solid closer. Best we've had since Franco and I think he's as good as Franco, maybe a little better.

Sanchez - a lot of hope that he returns. I mean, he's as valuable to us as many of our key players. Hope he comes back.

Heilman & Feliciano - respectible enough for 7th inning guys.

I think Matt Wise will fit right in. He's been solid his whole career.

and we have a whole bunch of guys waiting in the wings.

Sosa can be the long relief / spot starter guy.

Not sure the status of Burgos' health, but he might enter the picture later in the season, or he might be a writeoff till next year. He's a maybe.

I don't love Brian stokes' career 7 era, but he's young.

and I'm not sure what we'll get from Joe Smith. He was great early on but he clearly hit a wall by mid season. Maybe the best bet with Smith is to start him in the minors and call him up if he looks ready.

but there's enough depth in the pen, including guys who probably won't start this year in the majors, that I think the Pen will be fine.

but I'd be happy if we signed Lofton cause if we need to sit alou, I'm not sure Pagan or Anderson or Endy are ready to be a full time player.
Bill Clinton slept with an intern. A consenting adult and he got impeached and nearly disbarred as a result. Donald Trump went to parties showcasing underaged women brought in as basically prostitutes, and he says it's nothing.

Double standard?
