UPDATE to DRAFT THREAD DIRECTORY, APRIL 28

Caneman786 wrote:Another big update, following the release of the full early entry candidates to the 2026 NBA Draft on the NBA website: https://www.nba.com/news/2026-nba-draft-early-entry-candidates

Any underclassman or international prospect under the age of 22 who is not on the above list may not enter into the 2026 NBA Draft, and many players who were expected to be prospects withdrew. Some notable ones:

Projected first round picks: Patrick Ngongba II, Thomas Haugh, Braylon Mullins, Motiejus Krivas
Projected second round picks: Pryce Sandfort, Dame Sarr, Zvonimir Ivisic, Alex Condon, Paul McNeil Jr., JoJo Tugler, Ivan Kharchenkov, Tomislav Ivisic
Fringe prospects: Dash Daniels, Neoklis Avdalas, Adrian Wooley, Somto Cyril, Rakim Chaney

Although Alijah Arenas and Acaden Lewis initially declared and were on the early entry list, both of them have announced that they will be returning to college.

The source for the consensus mock draft is ESPN Analytics' Draft Simulator's Aggregate prospect ranking, which is based on many different currently available draft boards and rankings. The simulation tool is available at this link: https://espnanalytics.com/nba-draft-simulator.

Compared to the tool, in this list, the following players have been removed: (#45) Dash Daniels, (#46) Alijah Arenas, (#55) Momo Faye, (#61) Adam Atamna. All of them either have not declared for the draft or have now withdrawn from the draft after having declared.

Class rankings are from the RSCI Hoops Index.

Luigi Suigo is pretty legit from the totally curated highlights I have seen. At least as mobile as Mara, far better shooter. Not near the passer and doesnt have the IQ of Mara but I wouldnt be shocked to see him late R1. Think the C depth after Mara is very fluid and will be super board specific team by team.

I think Suigo is better at just about everything than Mara. His passing was pretty good this summer, I thought. He is good at the high-low stuff that centers used to really prioritize. I am excited by him - haven't seen him outside of youth competitions, but I don't need to in order to prefer him to Mara, TBH.

Ya dont really disagree here.

Mara has such an odd center of gravity with weird wide hips. His build is more like Boban than a giant like Edey or Clingan IMO. Just clunky.

Suigo has a body type that seems much closer to a Clingan - again not talking about weight but like literally how their body is structured.

Given everything we know already, I feel like Mara to the Bulls for a less-than-lotto-value career is gonna happen.

Sorry, Bulls fans.

I wouldn't draft this guy in the first round, but from what I've watched, he's better than Yang, and Yang went 17 so I wouldn't be surprised if he's a first rounder.

Teams just can't help themselves with size. If it's a team in the late first with multiple first round picks, why not? No real downside there. He's locked in to a cheap contract for a few years, and gives a team time to develop him.

I also wouldn't draft Mara in the first round but I think he's going in the teens. Like, Charlotte could easily take him with one of their two first round picks. My thought process when ranking players is always mock draft style. In what I think teams would do, not necessarily how I rank players personally. And guys like Mara are first round picks, deservedly so or not.

So Donovan Atwell was invited to the G-League combine, but none of Malik Dia, Carson Cooper nor Tae Davis showed up on the list. Last year, Brooks Barnhizer wasn't invited and Sam Presti still took him with a second round pick.

I am not sure how those three guys didn't get a look. OTOH, Mark Mitchell has an opportunity to help himself this upcoming week.

Oh and Billy Richmond should test off the charts. Pete Suder measured a De'Anthony Melton like wingspan at Portsmouth.

Full list of players invited to attend the NBA Draft Combine.

Read on Twitter

Full list (subject to change) of players invited to attend the NBA G-League Combine.

Read on Twitter

73 players on the NBA Draft Combine list, 44 players on the NBA G-League Elite Camp Combine list. 117 overall.

Some standout players from the NBA G-League Elite Camp Combine, after its conclusion, will be invited to NBA Draft Combine. Last year five prospects were invited out of 45 participants.

...

As for how these correlated with the actual draft picks (all research based on last year's 2025 draft cycle, where Cooper Flagg went first):

Last year 79 players (including the five G-League Elite Camp Combine standouts) attended the NBA Draft Combine.

All 30 of last draft's first round picks were in that group.

Of the 29 second round picks last year:

23 picks attended the NBA Draft Combine.
3 picks attended the G League Elite Camp Combine but did not make it to the NBA Combine: Pick 44 Brooks Barnhizer, Pick 46 Amari Williams, Pick 59 Jahmai Mashack
2 picks attended the adidas Eurocamp in Treviso (either in 2024 or 2025) but did not attend either of the two above events: Pick 51 Mohamed Diawara, Pick 58 Saliou Niang
1 pick did not attend any combine or camp, in his case he worked out privately with a few teams and got picked by one: Pick 54 Taelon Peter

...

So, last year, of the 79 players who attended the NBA draft combine:

53 (or 67% of the participants) were drafted in the 2025 NBA Draft
30 (or 38% of the participants) were first round picks
23 (or 29% of the participants) were second round picks

26 (or 33% of the participants) were not drafted in the 2025 NBA Draft. Of these:

12 (15% of all 79 participants, 46% of those 26 not drafted) withdrew from the draft and went back to school to play D1 college basketball for another year (N. Avdalas, M. Byrd, A. Condon, B. Fland, K. Knox, Y. Lendeborg, M. Mgbako, O. Oweh, T. Pettiford, L. Philon Jr., M. Uzan, D. Williams)
2 (3% of all 79 participants, 8% of those 26 not drafted) withdrew from the draft and went back to playing in a professional league overseas (B. Henshall, M. Ruzic)
12 (15% of all 79 participants, 46% of those 26 not drafted) stayed in the draft and went undrafted (I. Almansa, T. Bates, E. Dixon, V. Goldin, R. Luis Jr., J. Moore, G. Nelson, R. Nembhard, D. Pate, H. Sallis, M. Sears, B. Williams)

Reading the tea leafs, I think guys like Morez Johnson, Allen Graves, Billy Richmond, Tyler Tanner, Andrej Stojakovic, Rueben Chinyelu, Meleek Thomas, Jeremy Fears, Malachi Morenzo, Acaden Lewis etc all publically saying they are maintaining college eligibility means the feedback they are getting from NBA teams is probably outside the top 20.

Krivas, Juke, Mullins, Haugh were probably also getting the same feedback.

What that tells me is that guys like Steinbach, Koa , Cam Carr and Mara etc are probably getting better feedback from NBA intel than that group.

If most of those guys bail on the draft and return to school, this second round may as well be canceled.

The full measurements and athletic testing from the Portsmouth Invitational Tournament (PIT) 2026 were released.

The PIT is a volunteer-run, non-profit tournament held in Portsmouth, VA every year that invites 64 players who just finished their senior season in college, groups them into 8 teams of 8, and then has them participate in a tournament against each other, as well as also get measurements and athletic testing done.

This year's PIT's MVP was Melvin Council, Jr., who was Kansas's starting point guard last college basketball season.

Full data is available for all 64 players who participated. The images take up a lot of space on the screen, so they are in spoilers:

As for the Portsmouth Invitational, of the 64 people invited every year, most of them will not make it to the NBA. Very few are drafted in the NBA or achieve any type of standard contract.

Of the 64 players in the 2025 Portsmouth Invitational class, here is where they spent the 2025–26 basketball season:

2 were drafted in the NBA draft (Kobe Sanders, pick 50; Jahmai Mashack, Pick 59)
11 signed an exhibit 10 contract or two-way contract with an NBA team and played in at least one NBA game (Sean Pedulla, CJ Huntley, Jahmyl Telfort, Moussa Cisse, Adama-Alpha Bal, Chucky Hepburn, Julian Reese, Chris Youngblood, Curtis Jones, Bez Mbeng, John Poulakidas)* EDIT: Initially written as 10, there are 11 players here

27 signed an Exhibit 10 contract or two-way contract with an NBA team, played in the G league, and did not play an NBA game.
4 were drafted in the G league draft in October 2025, played in the G league, and did not play an NBA game

18 signed a contract with a foreign league and played there

1 returned to college to play football
1 worked on attaining a master's degree

For this year, some of the best players in this camp are listed on the invitees list to the G League combine. The number is 18 players* (so, out of the 44 players at the G League combine, 41% of them went to the Portsmouth Invitational). They are listed in the spoiler: *EDIT: Correction made from 17 to 18, missed Trey Kaufman-Renn

Spoiler:
Donovan Atwell
Rafael Castro
Zach Cleveland
Quadir Copeland
Melvin Council, Jr.
Tre Donaldson
Jaden Henley
Trey Kaufman-Renn
Xaivian Lee
Tamin Lipsey
Robert McCray V
Mark Mitchell, Jr.
Malik Reneau
Kowacie Reeves, Jr.
Jaylin Sellers
Seth Trimble
Cade Tyson
Ernest Udeh, Jr.

Five players who were at the PIT this year (Kylan Boswell, Tobi Lawal, Izaiyah Nelson, Felix Okpara, and Peter Suder) have invites to the NBA Draft Combine.

All in all, 23 players (or 36% of all players who were at the PIT) are going to one of either the G League or NBA Draft combines.

Spoiler:
Donovan Atwell
Rafael Castro
Zach Cleveland
Quadir Copeland
Melvin Council, Jr.
Tre Donaldson
Jaden Henley
Xaivian Lee
Tamin Lipsey

Jaylin Sellers
Seth Trimble
Cade Tyson
Ernest Udeh, Jr.

Five players who were at the PIT this year (Kylan Boswell, Tobi Lawal, Izaiyah Nelson, Felix Okpara, and Peter Suder) have invites to the NBA Draft Combine.

All in all, 22 players (or 34% of all players who were at the PIT) are going to one of either the G League or NBA Draft combines.

How about Mbeng and Poulakidas last year? The Yalies. Bez had a triple double for Utah and John hit 8 threes in a game for Dallas. I think both guys are going to hang around the league.

Cause American logic says „they play in shoes so why measure barefoot“ which is just mindboggingly stupid.

It’s gotta be tempting for Morez to go back to Michigan. I’m sure there’s great NIL money on the table, and he’ll get featured more with Yaxel and Mara gone. He’ll still have to fight for minutes with portal guys, though, because May is attracting guys as expected.

I’d probably leave with any kind of first round promise. He’s going to need development against bigger, more physical players to have a NBA career of significance.
