I also like Bassala Bagayoko as a hyper-athletic Center prospect.

Center Felix Okpara showed out well at the combine and played well in the scrimmages. He has definitely moved onto the top of my 2nd round watchlist.

Jaden Bradley
Felix Okpara
Otega Oweh
Baba Miller
Quadir Copeland
Dillon Mitchell
Seth Trimble
Lamar Wilkerson
Ugonna Onyenso
Trevon Brazile

These are all seniors who will be in the draft and I think could have a legitimate chance of still being on the board when we pick.

I could see drafting teammates Okpara and Gillespie.

I don't watch enough college basketball to talk about most players, but as an Indiana Hoosiers fan, I can tell you that I cannot imagine Tucker DeVries has any chance to be an NBA player. Maybe he can show something he didn't show this year, but the son-of-the-coach was at best average for a Big 10 starter. Limited athleticism, bad shooting, just blah. He even stunk it up at the G League Combine.

And I liked Malik Reneau in his seasons in Bloomington. Athletic, strong and a good post game, with some potential distance shooting (though he didn't show that at IU). Plays with passion, though not always smarts. I didn't see him at Miami, but it looks like he upped his 3P% to nearly 35%.

MF’n gangster Will Wade trying to break the entire NIL/NCAA with his moves this offseason and I’m here for it. Gives me Sam Dekker vibes. Any insight from you draft gurus?

He should be good in college, he’s been a pro internationally for a while and participated at the NBA Combine last year although he didn’t look great there, not ready very young and physically underdeveloped, but very skilled offensively and is probably getting a bit stronger by now. He’s a 7 foot PF.

Didn't realize we still had two seconds nice!

Bruce Thornton is someone id look at with number 50.

Not super small at point but really efficient, good shooter great passer. Excellent A/TO ratio. He's not a defender by any means but I think he can hold up on the bench and be a solid back up system point who can shoot and pass.

This is a really great and deep draft and we already have a lot of young players we are developing. I’d rather consolidate those two, and maybe other assets, to move back up.

Why would we do that? We have roster spots to clear that will be cleaned more than likely by hardy and whitmore and delo and some other guys that aren't gonna be on the team long term gills probably going to the staff.
Naw get two good young players on really cheap team controlled deals over one more expensive first. No thanks on the trade up.

He improved over his 4 year college career. But he's going to turn 25 in November; might be hard to imagine much beyond a cup of coffee in the NBA....

Of the seniors coming out of the draft that are bigs:
Izaiyah Nelson, PF/C
Maliq Brown, PF
Tyler Bilodeau, PF
Felix Okpara, C
Tobi Lawal, PF
Nate Bittle, C
Trey Kaufman-Renn, PF
Malik Reneau, PF

I like Maliq Brown as a player that could contribute on D. I feel like he could fall to 51?

But he did have a really solid NBA Draft Combine, tying for the fastest time in the three-quarter court sprint with a time of 3.07 seconds and he had a a 7-foot-1 wingspan. So, maybe he goes earlier?

I do like Brown. But I think my favorite 2nd round outcome of players with real potential to be on the board when we pick is Oweh and Okpara. Add some depth, athleticism and defense to our interior and perimeter.

I absolutely want to trade up. Round 1 is deep with useful players. We may need to sign a vet back up big. Roster is packed already without much room and time to develop players. This year had the fewest NCAA players declare for the draft. I’d burn both our 2nd rounders and swap futures as well to climb into the mid first or late lotto.

Or even to the late 1st top of the 2nd. Baba Miller probably has crawled into the first round. Luigi Suigo. Tarris Reed. There’s a list at the late 20’s early 30’s but I’m less intrigued with the scraps lower down.

This is insanity.

This is the deepest draft in decades. Who would we move up to pay a guy more money and have less control over him. When we can get comparable players later in the second and have control of them linger and cheaper.

We know it's a strong draft. Until after May 27th the deadline for players to withdraw from the draft then we'll know how deep it is. After that it won't be 51 and 60 deep.

Exactly. Guys like Tyler Tanner and Koa Peat are likely to withdraw from the draft. It wouldn't surprise me if we ultimately see a pretty steep decline in prospect quality starting at the #25-30 range. I'll bet nearly all the underclassmen mocked later than 25 right now at Tankathon are going to withdraw.

I think the second round (especially late) should be focused on seniors. But yeah, with the underclassmen pulling out, those seniors then rise in the second round. Eventually, the second round will have really solid seniors moving forward. This is good for competitive teams that want to add a player they don't have to take 2-3 years to develop.

What strikes me is the changes in the draft and then NIL, it will change the landscape of the NBA in an interesting way.
