This has turn out to be an ugly statement.

What about after game 3? We'll see how series turned out, you jumped in here too early after game 1.

So if Wemby loses a series to one of the greatest teams of all time then that’s proof he can never win as the #1 option? Great logic man.

Wemby has been a + in every game this series, the spurs are losing because they can’t stay afloat in the non-Wemby minutes. If Wemby and Shai switched teams the Thunder would be up 3-0 right now.

What was Wemby's shot chart for G5? Looked like he was just hovering around the 3-point line and taking terrible jumpers.

Felt like this game encapsulated perfectly his major weaknesses.

What was surprising was his weak defensive presence. He looked gassed / meek tbh in the first half. OKC were getting so many easy shot attempts at the rim.

Yeah probably the first time ever in his young life that he has played this much basketball in short period of time. Barely getting rest against a physical defensive team. Looked a step slow tonight for sure.

Win or lose this series vs OKC, Wemby will be on a GOAT trajectory already.

his numbers look insane but its clear he could be playing even better. he looks gassed at times averaging 39 mpg this series but they need him on the floor

It looked like it after game one of the season and game one of the series. At this point though there's a lot of reason to be concerned. He's incredible inconsistent önt egy offensive end. High center of gravity means even small guys keep him from the rim so he's going to have to play a KD style of ball but with high dribble he'll be turnover prone in the playoffs and he's not a great shooter. His motor is also in question after game 5. But most concerning to me is that this series has put his defense in question too. He cannot defend 5 out teams. He simply ignores corner shooters to protect the rim, leading essentially to 4 on 5 team defense. He's protecting the rim while the opponent is shooting open 3s. It's going to get much worse as every team retools with stretch guys. You can say 5 shooting smalls because he can't punish them on offense and cant defend them on defense. He will have to win the ring this year if he wants to get back in the conversation.

You cant be such a force offensively and defensively. Wemby is guarding the rim/Corner and OKC are starting to hunt that,

He's young and you literally cant expect more from anyone in his situation. Fox is banged up, Harper is still very young, Castle is also playing hard defence on SGA and is then expected to run a lot of the offense the other way,

it just happens to teams who havent made deep runs, Easy points dry up, Vic has to battle everywhere on offense to get where he needs to go, Then he's the lynchpin of a defence.

Please for God sake, someone team him to screen properly.

It would open so many easy buckets for him.

The only reason why he keeps slipping screens I can think of is that Spurs are afraid he gets injured.
