I doubt that happens, but I do think this team needs to sign a vet or two that can positively impact the locker room. Can't be a team of all young players trying to figure it out.

I struggle to see the downside in using our cap space to add Porzingis to a 1+1 deal with a team option for next season

The biggest way it can go south is - Porzingis continues to have health issues and misses a lot of games, which results in what? Us being in the lottery? boo hoo, likely there anyway.

I'm all for signing Tingus Pingus if we can't (and probably won't) get Kessler or Hartenstein

I posted that when he was hired. It does make some sense....outside of the defense

CJ could be that 1Y contract who saves us from bottom-3 relegation. I’d probably sooner sign him to 1Y than I would Simons or Sexton to longterm deals.

Do you really think KP is gettable for a 1+1 deal? If so, I'd certainly be willing to overpay for that (assuming we aren't able to nab a guy like Watson).

Yea agree, it's not crazy. He seems like a good vet to have around and would help balance the offense around Wilson. I think I'd prefer to just give him a bag for 1 year and punt the cap space to 2027 vs. giving a multi-year contract to a mid player.

There's nothing financially stopping us from offering a 1+1 type deal that he'd have to consider

Porzingis has played in 65 games over the past 2 years

122 if we go back three years, that's just under half the games over the past 3 years.

I'm not sure there's a huge market out there for a 31 year old that plays less than half their games over the past 3 years

If we offer him 2 year $60m deal with the second year a team option

No one else is offering him $30m in one year. How many years would it take for him to earn $30m from the contracts he's likely to receive?

The longer I think about, the more do I feel that the upcoming free agent class is worth to tie some new multiyear contracts to our legs
Duren 178 / 4 won't even be enough
Reaves 140 - 160 / 4
Kessler 120 - 160 / 4 and we do not even know if he can play more than 5 games on top level
Watson 120 - 140 / 4 and it wasn't that he even produced a whole good season as well

On the other hand I want us to be reapectable.
we don't know how to plan until we've picked at 4, but if it is Wilson and Giannis will get traded by draft night, going after Myles Turner now could be an realistic option.
he is a complete C including rim protection to me, it just somehow did not work out in Milwaukee. But 81 mio / 3 years remaining sounds OK to me. He barely misses games even though he has turned 30 this spring.

My wish would be to sing Collin Sexton as well and a lineup out of
Sexton
Giddey
Buzelis
Wilson
Turner
sounds respectable to me
Would be interesting to know what the Bucks demand

If we can lure Joe from OKC now with 3x 2nd rounders, lets go.. re-sign Lenny Miller and we have :

Giddey, T.Jones, Dillingham
Joe, Swain, Sellers, K.Jones
Buzelis, Okoro, Williams
Wilson, Miller, Essengue
Claxton, Smith, Awaka

Not sold on the Swain pick yet, but for the moment I'm fine with where we are
Expected starters:
Giddey
Buzelis
Wilson
Claxton
and another 5th starter

Main question is to figure out if Buzelis and Wilson alongside each other works (someone has to defend oposing SFs)

Main backups:
Tre Jones
Okoro
Swain
Miller (crowded at F, but I think he earned a chance to prove himself again)
Smith

Deep bench:
Dillingham
Kam Jones (presented as a SG, I believe they want to seriously try him at PG, he has 3 years left on his deal 3rd is a top)
Sellers (let's see if he can become a 3+D wing9
Williams
Essengue

We are in search for one more relevant player.
Peyton Watson fits in many aspects, but spending so much money on a non max player concerns me ...
From my pov we already have him in Sexton, but we'll see

Our lack of size concerns me, but there is not really a roster spot left for an additional backup C (Richards, Collins)

Seems as if Sellers is signed on a 2 way contract, that indeed would leave a rosterspot for a backup C
