Yikes, what awful news! Even if he's healthy by training camp, an offseason of work is lost and may not be realistic to expect a similar leap in year 3 as in year 2.

It's a definite setback and a bit of a mood killer. I just hope the long term prognosis is a return at 100% health with no complications.

If it was a non contact injury while he was gaining weight, i'd be a little more concerned. He'll probably have restrictions for 6-8 weeks.

I do tend to trust our current medical staff a bit more.

I legit thought Kwame was gonna breakout out in year 4. Then we got this news during the off-season in 2004:

BTW, I'm still convinced in different circumstances Brown develops into Jermaine O'Neal lite PF. Would have made all the difference in the Gilbert era.

Kwame‘s problem was between the ears and his wounded ego would never have allowed him to focus on doing the things that would have made the team better regardless of the circumstances.

Welp. At least he won’t be overseas playing for France? Stay in town and work on his strength. If not conditioning.

Looks like it was the 5th metatarsal. The fact that he had surgery right away makes it more likely that it was the proximal end - ie a Jones fracture. If so it’s good they didn’t mess around casting it first, they often don’t heal and need eventual surgery.
Hoping he heals fast and completely

Nah. Re-sign Bagley if need be. But also get a C prospect late in R2 -- Okpara, Onyenso, or Castro.

Maybe not right away but I would hope he can shoot FTs and 3s.

This is what we have to hope for - and hope he doesn't go back to France to heal.

Minor fractures take 4 to 6 weeks, moderate fractures up to 3 months and severe fractures 3 months or longer. I guess we won't know which it is until we know :dontknow:

It does "feel" like another lost off-season and another setback. Training camp opens late September, that is only 90 days away. I would think this training staff would be pretty conservative - so he might not be "fully" ready to go at training camp? :dontknow:

Really, we just need to wait to see the severity of the break.

I still think Sarr will be ready for the season, but whether or not he will be ramped up to speed enough is a another question. Bags makes a lot of sense.
