And yes everyone else understood I was exaggerating to point out how silly that tier take is. It's okay to have a take, then have someone help you see the obvious holes and then laugh at yourself and go yeah I shouldn't have implied 5 and 19 are essentially the same value. Admitting we are wrong makes us look smarter not dumber.

I know. I should just let people make ridiculous statements and not point out the fallacy. At least when its you. Got it. I look forward to trading 30 for 14 and you feeling happy you hoodwinked the Mavs into paying more money over 4 years for the same level prospect.

I don't think getting those guys to sign in Miami for a year with a chance to play on a playoff contender would be all that difficult.

Nobody said any of that, but clearly you don't understand the concept and have to try to make it some mockery about picking your buddies at recess or whatever tangent you are off on.
The point is the prospect at 8 isn't much better than the guy at 13, so no I don't think teams are accepting trade packages purely off how high the pick at the expense of the package being worse elsewhere. Hence why teams are more than willing to trade down in this draft.........
Nobody said teams should want to pick 30th or 5th or whatever exaggeration you are trying to make a thing over and over again. I didn't think I would need to explain this so much, but yet here we are.

This was your actual post I responded to. Going to help you see the part in question since you are pretending now you didn't say it.
Now that we've covered the actual take you had that I took umbrage with (though I also strongly disagree pick 8 and 13 have the same value), let me address my part:
I was reductive in trying to make my point to you. And I should have done better. I have heard dozens of posters over the years make this same flawed argument as you, and it gets tiring pointing out just how wrong it is. But that's not your fault. So I am apologizing for the mocking tone I used. I should not have done so. It was disrespectful and I need to own that.

Clippers should really get involved and try to grab Giannis for themselves. A package built around #5 plus Kawhi should be plenty of value to land him. I'm sure Miami or GSW would pay handsomely for Kawhi, as the third team.
Right!!! Though wouldn’t you want to pair Kawhi with Giannis?
I haven’t done the math but it seems the Clippers have enough other contracts and non guaranteed deals to make something work.
5 would definitely be the best pick floating around. Or if there is a Kawhi move involved GSW and Butler you could likely get 11 as well. Seems like the could put together a good package.
I’d assume Giannis would extend there but I think that’s part of the equation as well.
I want to trade Kawhi for Butler, Podz and #11. If we did that, we could route Butler to Milwaukee and add #5 plus #11 plus Indiana 2029.
But it looks like Ballmer wants to keep Kawhi. So that makes it tough. #5 alone will not get it done. So I now hope the Clips trade #5 to Sac for #7 and a future pick or two and then trade #7 to OKC for #12, #17 and Clips pick returned. Not a bad return for Zubac.

I more or less agree with this. Not only that, though, I'm confident that there are teams that are going to reach for the wrong players like Acuff, Ament, Burries, and Brown Jr. There's gonna be guys going late lottery and in the teens that will be better than guys going 5, 6, and 7 because teams overrate small scoring guards.

That usually leads to a lot of trades where teams trade up to get their specific guy instead of waiting on a flat tier and potentially settling

Who could be a dark horse for Giannis that we're not seeing in reports?

The Rockets have the assets to upgrade from Sengun to Giannis if they wanted to. As much as the Rockets spacing is a concern for Sengun, it wouldn't be as big of a problem if he could bowl over 2 defenders the way Giannis can. Giannis being a formidable defender gives the Rockets more leeway to add role players that contribute on the offensive end rather than trying to cover up for Sengun on the defensive end.

Boston, Heat, Magic, Rockets, Hawks, Net are the ones I think most reports have been about.
I guess maybe Minnesota or OKC or Spurs would be the dark horse

Yeah on this board, that's true. Not much smoke outside though.

Yeah the miami no depth after a giannis trade makes no sense.
Davion/kas/dru
Powell/pelle
Wiggins/gardner
Giannis
Bam
16M tpe to use
15M ntpmle to use
Vet mins to use.
That's plenty of proven depth and exceptions to add more. And that doesn't include the vet mins who will ring chase.

In the trade, Eric Pincus has Milwaukee sending Giannis Antetokounmpo, Andre Jackson Jr., and a $3 million trade exception to Atlanta in exchange for Jonathan Kuminga, Zaccharie Risacher, Buddy Hield, Corey Kispert, the No. 8 and No. 23 picks in the 2026 draft, a 2029 first-round pick and a $2.4 million trade exception.

I know folks already brought up the Magic but as a Bucks fan looking at what the Heat offer is I'm not impressed. If we could get Banchero, Black, Da Silva or Richardson with 2 1st round picks for Giannis and a salary filler; I'd do that deal.

Yeah if I’m the Bucks a couple good young guys plus picks is what you want. Especially a guy like Banchero with all NBA potential. If that’s on the table then it’s hard to beat.
Jordan Walsh goes top 10 in a 2023 redraft.

Although if I am understanding correctly Orlando can only trade one pick…2032.
High variance pick yes, but even with a package headlined by Banchero and Black do they need a third team to get the Bucks another pick with lotto potential?

Even on/post draft night the Magic only have 1 tradeable first.
With how bad the Dame dead money is for the next 4 years I think they need to get as many picks as possible and hope to draft well.
Paolo, Black, Da Silva and Rollins is just a bad team in the East, especially if you have no ability to draft more guys.

Yeah Ill always say if this is about getting as many cracks at a ring for the rest of his career, Charlotte is the place to go.
Charlotte could unload every pick they have and bridges and probably beat most offers leaving them with
Diabate
Giannis
Miller
Kon
Ball
that lineup would be impossible to guard.
