Too late to ask peak giannis prices when he has asked out. Be interesting to see where he goes and what they get. I thought miamis deal was decent if it had 2 1sts. Not sure if thats the offer. Reroute herro and get a 3rd 1st

Bane wasn't demanding out, the magic overpaid, bucks dont have a lot of leverage and the heat are sending some young talent. Don't get me wrong, I dont want giannis on the heat, I just haven't really read any better offers

A pick in this year's draft, a young player with upside, two quite role players... more than enough for a YO.

Re: Bucks Considered 'Unrealistic' By Rival Teams In Asking Price For Giannis Antetokounmpo
i said weeks ago, that its too late for giannis and the bucks.
They should have done this 2 years ago. Giannis would have gotten his will and the bucks would have gotten a haul.
Now GMs think 4 times over, if they wanna add another max guy to the roster and what they wanna give up. the roster building and salaray handling has changed so much in the last couple years.

This isn't 2019 Giannis. He's shown serious durability issues. He's on the last year of his contract and won't extend unless it is to a team he wants to go to. A trade for him will look like what the Raptors gave up for Kawhi which was DDR, Poetl and a 1st.

He should just force a trade to the Spurs so they can keep Castle and Harper and call it a day. If he does not force a trade of course the Bucks going to be asking for a kings ransom for him.

The Bucks should have traded him last summer if they wanted a major haul. Giannis essentially has 1 year left and there are enough teams planning around preserving 2027 off-season cap space.
The Bucks screwed themselves the the Dame trade and now waiting too long to deal Giannis, period.

Re: Bucks Considered 'Unrealistic' By Rival Teams In Asking Price For Giannis Antetokounmpo
.Giannis has not asked or forced Milwaukee to trade him. Also Milwaukee is not going to just give Giannis away for that trash package that Miami offered! I think that some teams are going to under achieve during the next NBA season and Giannis is going to get traded right b4 the end of the trade deadline! Miami is going to go after Ja bcus I think that the weak trash commish (Gollum) will be forced to suspend Kawhi for the entire season! If he doesn't then the guys that supposedly gambled should sue the NBA!Darthlukey wrote:Vegeta10176 wrote:Darthlukey wrote:Too late to ask peak giannis prices when he has asked out. You don't know what you are talking about? Any player can get injured! Also when healthy Giannis is the best all around player in the NBA! Better then Joker, Luka SGA and Bambi aka Wemby!

Nope. Kawhi said he would only resign in LA. SAS sent him as far in the opposite direction as possible, understanding all along that they were getting peanuts back in return. It was a great piece of GMing, sending a clear message that players can demand whatever they want but SAS will do what's in the best interest of the team. I applaud MIL for not caving, now or at the last deadline. They have traded everything not nailed down just to make Giannis happy. They deserve to get a decent package on his way out the door.

Look, you should probably settle down a bit. I love Giannis, but "best all around player" is subjective. Is he the best shooter, passer, rebounder, shot blocker, etc... No, but he is a dominant force on both ends of the floor. We all know he's great.
Unfortunately, a large chunk of his greatness stems from his athleticism. It usually doesn't go well when a non-shooter's athleticism wanes. As great as he can be, the back half of his next contract might be rough!

Thats well and good, it just becomes a big game of chicken. But in the end sas accepted peanuts, which is what bucks are being offered due to a lack of leverage

My point was: SAS reportedly had better offers and chose to send Kawhi to TOR rather than get bullied into sending him to his preferred destination. MIL has no such agenda with Giannis. They are clearly willing to keep him. (They might be looking for a reason to keep him.)
A better comp would be Harden to BRK. Harden forced his way out of HOU to his one preferred destination and HOU got: Jarrett Allen, Rodions Kurucs, Caris LeVert, Taurean Prince, the draft rights to Sasha Vezenkov, a Swap 2021 1st round picks, a 2022 1st round pick (BRK own), a Swap 2023 1st round picks, a 2024 1st round pick (BRK own), a Swap 2025 1st round picks, a 2026 1st round pick (BRK own), a Swap 2027 1st round picks and cash.
MIA is offering peanuts because all they have is peanuts. They don't have a single player to offer that MIL would want to build around. Herro might get them an additional 1st if they are willing to take back a bad contract. On the other hand, if BOS is truly offering Jaylen Brown... that's not peanuts!

Agreed, though as a celtics fan, its brown and maybe a 1st, not more than that
