10 keys to success for the Braves in 2008

Post#1 » by HMFFL » Sun Feb 10, 2008 3:50 pm

1. The Big Three starters stay healthy

2. Chipper avoids strains, pulls, etc.

3. Rafael Soriano owns the closer role

4. Tex has a year to break the bank

5. Bullpen roles are established early

6. Frenchy and B-Mac take the next step

7. Hampton's ready to contribute

8. J.J., Jo-Jo push Chuck to improve

9. Escobar, K.J. thrive in the middle

10. Kotsay is a catalyst in center

If Kotsay's back is OK, ya'll might be surprised. He can play some great D and hit .300 when he's feeling good, I think a move back to the NL is nothing but good for him.

well, considering he's batted over .300 ONCE in his 11 year career, i think you're right on with this assessment. 8)

Right, he hit .298, .292, .291 other seasons... how could I make such a colossal error in judgement?

God I hope I still have some credibility left... Give it a rest, he's a solid average hitter, and was frequently over .300 for the A's...

He's not going to stay healthy all season, he hasnt been able to since his only .300 season. Worse yet sometimes, he'll play through his back injuries and you can usually tell when those points in time are - much more K's.

he's a[n] average hitter

correct!!!!
with a career OPS+ of 100 and career EqA of barely over .260, he is exactly that!
