Bad basketball decision in most cases, but Dallas has their franchise player already, so they don't need to shoot for the moon.

The order of this Draft in a redraft is highly unlikely to be drafted as it was currently drafted. Maybe there is something to what he is saying. Isaiah Evans isn't the standout name/pick, but he does most things well. Why did he slide?

The entire first 3 were the ESPN consensus rankings.

The top 4 was set in stone for a reason, as soon as the lottery was finished. Anyone who thought any different was just trying to hard for the sake of trying hard. Any swerves would have been completely out of left field. So?

Even the players knew this, which is why so many only worked out for one or two teams. Acuff was set on the Kings, Wagler was set on the Clippers. Probably because those teams wanted those players.

You want a rogue GM to do something crazy because...? Ratings? Drama? I mean, I didn't bother watching that crap ESPN telecast, so maybe that could have made it more exciting, but who cares.

The likelihood that the NBA teams evaluated players exactly the same way as high school recruiting analysts is very slim. So there is at least some media narrative in there. The 5 best players from a draft class are almost never in order.

It isn't crazy to want Peterson over AJ or Caleb over Boozer.

nothing weird about it. He views himself as a superstar. Where else was he guaranteed to get as much usage as he could handle which means he'll mostly likely win ROY because he's going to fill the stat sheet plus will be vying for all-star and all-nba teams in the future? It's easy to say you like the Kings when you had no chance of going higher. It endears you to the fan base and provides a compelling narrative for the media (his Dad played for Scott Perry in college) to embrace which helps when getting post-season awards. His goal is to get the max on his 2nd contract. My fear is, like with Fox before him, if we aren't able to offer him more than other teams, as soon as possible, he'll go elsewhere. So in my head, he's a 5-6 year player and then he's gone. Hopefully whoever is the G.M. won't allow him to bend us over by demanding only one team and forcing us to accept a lesser offer like with Fox.

The first real surprise for me was Golden State taking Lendeborg over Mara.

A lot of folks had Morez at 9 as the first surprise, but I kind of expected that, although I thought maybe Masai could trade down and still get him. May knew who his best pro prospect was, and it was clearly Morez. And Burries made sense for Milwaukee, assuming that they’ll look to move Herro no later than the deadline and have no intention of giving him a big contract.

But the Warriors confused me. If you’ve read my posts here, you know I’m fairly high on Yax and fairly low on Aday, but we’re still talking about drafting an immediate contributor vs. a developmental center with some talent. When are the Warriors actually going to think about the future? They aren’t winning squat next year with or without Yaxel, so the pick just doesn’t make sense.

And, of course, OKC scoops the big guy up the next pick, at 12. They may not keep him, as they apparently informed him, but even if he only has a 20% chance to be a viable starter down the road, it’s a gamble they can afford to take. And as one of the only guys with the length to bother Wemby, it makes total sense.

The point is that there's not really anything to what he is saying (or what you were saying). The fact that a re-draft will look different tells us absolutely nothing about why teams ranked and drafted players where they did.

But the fact that you are still so defensive about him and unwilling to admit you were wrong while grasping at straws and moving goalposts tells me that you still aren't humble enough to be taken seriously – despite some quality posts that show potential. The consideration is not "why" teams drafted the way they did. These things are simpler to understand and sometimes based on relationships rather than pure talent etc (Grizz coach's connection to Lopez overseas).

I thought we were discussing who was objectively better as NBA draft prospects? The fact that re-drafts look different tells us that teams make mistakes. I think even you will concede Anthony Bennett should not have gone #1, even in that draft class. This is even if we understand their logic at the time. On this thread and board, I do not strive to know why teams were wrong in their logic (that is for them to consider and improve on). I strive to point out when and why they are wrong.

There's lots of people who had Boozer #1, I would also have picked him #1, there are multiple other users on this board who also had him #1 (Cptrunch aside), and there are quite a few scouts and likely some GMs out there who would have done the same

No difference in opinion allowed, or you're "trying to hard for the sake of trying hard" and if you don't think the exact order of prospects picked was correct, (Dybantsa, Peterson, Boozer, Wilson) it is "something crazy"? I heavily disagree with both of these ideas.
