People keep comparing him to Sengun or Sabonis, but I think he's a lot more similar to Vucevic before he became a good 3pt shooter. Like, Orlando Vucevic.

The reason I don't think he's Sengun or Sabonis is because he isn't a good passer like those two are.

My optimistic floor, middle, ceiling

Floor: Cody Zeller
Mid: Vucevic
Ceiling: less athletic Tom Chambers?

Don't see any Zeller - Zeller was a two-trick pony - run & jump and setting screens, but if I squint hard enough at his tape I can almost see a bit of Naz Reid - granted it's a deep, deep squint into a far-off future.

I like more talented version of Mo Wagner as a comparison.

I don't think he's Cody either, but people forget that Indiana Cody was a good offensive hub and post scorer with poor defense. Indiana Cody and Hannes may actually be quite similar.

However, in the NBA Cody morphed into the opposite type of player, a good defender with very little scoring ability. This was mostly due to his T-Rex arms at the C position. I don't think Hannes has that issue, while also not being able to literally jump over players to dunk on them (RIP Pau Gasol).
