With NIL money now a thing, I wonder if there will be more teams who will try to draft and stash while the player goes to college.
It's a great way for teams to steal a sleeper they like and to avoid paying toward the salary cap. I bet the Knicks would have considered this if it was an option to them.
And it would seem possible that a team and player could work together to make this happen pre-draft (commit to a school, we draft you, you gain even more NIL money because you were drafted by the Lakers, see you in a year or two .. rinse-repeat).
