Parity Draft Semifinal - Dr Positivity* vs durantbird

Post#1 » by Dr Positivity » Thu Jun 25, 2026 4:37 pm

Here is a quick list of what you need in your writeup.

1. Specific years for each player on your team
2. Rotations and minutes for each player
3. Reasoning as to why your team will win and/or why people should vote for you.

Do not vote in this thread until both managers have submitted their writeups. Once the writeups are posted, you may post a vote by commenting to this post (notice we will not be using a poll) - all participants of the draft are invited and encouraged to post a vote, so as other regular participants of the games in the forum. You are not required to explain your vote, but you are welcome to do so if you want.

The team with the most votes after 24 hours if a minimum of three people vote, or first 3 votes wins. There is no AI vote with the host playing.

If writeups aren't posted within 24 hours, we will vote solely based on the players they have drafted (and any rotations they have posted on their roster page).

PG: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander 2025 - 21.8
SG: Jrue Holiday 2024 - 10.0
SF: Kevin Durant 2019 - 17.7
PF: Aaron Gordon 2023 - 11.2
C: Marc Gasol 2019 - 11.0

Bench: Shaun Livingston 2019 - 3.3
Bench: Dorian Finney-Smith 2025 - 6.9 - exception
Bench: Robert Williams 2022 - 6.0

Rotation:
PG: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander 38 / Shaun Livingston 10
SG: Jrue Holiday 38 / Dorian Finney-Smith 10
SF: Kevin Durant 32 / Dorian Finney-Smith 16
PF: Aaron Gordon 33 / Robert Williams 9 / Kevin Durant 6
C: Marc Gasol 33 / Robert Williams 15

87.9/88

vs

PG - Chris Paul (36) / Alex Caruso (12)
SG - Kentavious Caldwell-Pope (32) / Alex Caruso (16)
SF - Jaylen Brown (38) / Otto Porter (10)
PF - Lebron James (36) / Otto Porter (10) / Karl-Anthony Towns (2)
C - Karl-Anthony Towns (36) / Mitchell Robinson (12)

Matchup
- Defensive assignments Holiday on Paul, SGA on KCP, Durant on Brown, Gordon on LeBron, Gasol on Towns. DFS also sees some Brown/LeBron.
- We match up well. Holiday is a very strong POA defender against Paul to disrupt their rhythm, while Gordon is exactly the type of defender you'd want against LeBron - long, strong and great perimeter and post defender. Both centers can drag the other to the 3pt line, but Gordon and Timelord provide superior weak side help.
- SGA and Durant are a great fit, with one ball dominant guard with great scoring efficiency and great at finding open teammate, while Durant is the ultimate all time release valve able to open up defense and draw their full attention, giving Holiday or Gasol an open shot or opening driving lanes for Gordon to cut.
- While we have the perfect LeBron defender, Brown is probably assigned with Durant and while he's strong, he's in a height mismatch which isn't ideal.

PG - Chris Paul (2021 - 12.6 FGA)
SG - Kentavious Caldwell-Pope (2020 - 7.3 FGA)
SF - Jaylen Brown (2024 - 17.9 FGA)
PF - Lebron James (2020 - 19.4 FGA)
C - Karl-Anthony Towns (2026 - 13.8 FGA)

PG/SG - Alex Caruso (2025 - 5.8 FGA)
SF - Otto Porter, Jr. (2022 - 6.6 FGA)
C - Mitchell Robinson (2026 - 3.4 FGA)

86.8 / 88

PG - Chris Paul (36) / Alex Caruso (12)
SG - Kentavious Caldwell-Pope (32) / Alex Caruso (16)
SF - Jaylen Brown (38) / Otto Porter (10)
PF - Lebron James (36) / Otto Porter (10) / Karl-Anthony Towns (2)
C - Karl-Anthony Towns (36) / Mitchell Robinson (12)

Defensive matchups - KCP on SGA, Paul on Holiday, Brown on Durant, Lebron on Gordon, Towns on Gasol

- Great defensive matchups for us, KCP to switch on SGA while Paul defends a PG, a long wing for Durant

- I feel 2019 Durant is the start of his Nets/Suns/etc. version where he is stopping the ball more than in 17, on a team with a ball dominant scorer in SGA. Lebron and Paul should lead to a more ball movement friendly team.

- After SGA/Durant and Lebron/Paul, Brown and Towns are the two biggest offensive threats in the series, and Lebron playing with Towns 5 out lineup should be lethal.

- Our bench has the advantage as Thunder Caruso in a series against SGA is the biggest difference maker while he is using washed Livingston, and also a worse version of DFS. MitchRob and Williams are good both backup bigs on contenders, noting Paul should be a great fit with Robinson.

Overall we feel pretty good about loading up against SGA and Durant combo on D while we have more all star offensive threats, passing friendly Lebron and Paul and stronger depth.

Vote Dr P, I had durantbird one spot ahead as I like how his team fits together, but Dr P's talent edge beyond the top two stands out when looking at the teams side by side.

Not sure if I should vote or not.

But my ranking will verify this.

I had DrP as my #1 rank and Durantbird as my #2 rank.

So that is my vote

I voted Dr P's team being ahead in the rankings, but in a head to head, its extremely tight. I need more time to think
