Might as well trade him for a 2043 2nd round pick swap

So, Miles becomes Reid, Green becomes Allen, and Melo becomes ?

My initial reaction was that they aren’t terrible players but the team doesn’t need wing depth.

I hate we had to give up a 1st to trade Miles away.

Again I hope there is a plan here, as I have no idea what they’re doing.
Is it Jaylen Brown they’re after? Is he going to play point?

We took back a lot of extra money in this deal. We sent out 22.5 million and brought back 29 million. Plus 30 million next year instead of Miles $0.

We gave up a protected first for likely an unprotected first but yeah don't love it.

I wonder if one of the smaller TPEs gets used for this deal or if they dip into the $40M nest egg

This team is significantly worse. Jeff is shuffling deck chairs on the Titanic. I’m sure he believes he has a plan but he’s not gonna be here long enough to see it happen. He collected draft picks in 2033 and he’s never going to see.

Don't get this apart from some vague culture reset. Naz, Allen, and O'Neal, warts and all, are keen competitors, but we've taken a step back talent wise.

Trade machine had it as a legal move without needing to use any trade exception, so I think we still have all 3.

Any word on the outgoing 2029 FRP?

We had an incoming 2029 FRP that was the least favorable between Utah/CLE/MIN, hopefully it's that and not our own

Look, I don't really care. Miles is Miles. Fine with this even if it makes little sense and we give up the better talent.

I won't criticize the uninspiring return because he was the one guy I wanted to get rid of just to get rid of.

This is a totally fine talent downgrade unlike the last one

not gonna cry about miles leaving. thank you for your effort and loyalty on the court.
off the court - that's phoenix's problem now. maybe some space between miles and his ex will be good for everyone involved.
