Re: Around the NBA 2026-27
Its not often I wake up to 2 dumbass teams making a dumbass trade with each other but here I am. This trade makes both teams worse, rare achievement.
KC: Do you still think you're a championship-caliber team?
Gar: I never said that and correct me if I'm wrong.
KC: You were asked that question at the news conference announcing Thibodeau's dismissal and you answered yes

When has "going all in" last worked?
It didn't work in Milwaukee (Lillard/Turner) nor did it work with the Clippers (Kawhi/PG) or the Suns (trading for Durant).
Sometimes depth and flexibility is important to have.
Lillard was 33.
The Suns situation - Beal was injured. And Booker, Beal, and Durant was a terrible fit.
Clips - injuries. Repeatedly.
As for all in…. NY just did that. And they did it with younger pieces.
Ball is a younger piece. So is Edwards.
The Knicks were a different situation. Yes, they overpaid for Bridges, but he was a reliable player (durable) going to a deep team. They didn't get rid of all their flexibility.
The Wolves just traded for a player with a history of injuries (hmmm....sounds like Kawhi) and now have a questionable situation at the PF position.

When I asked the question there weren't any reports that were saying a deal was close with the Wolves, just that they were in talks with both the Raptors and Wolves.
Considering you were running around telling everyone that the Bulls traded the 38th pick for Nic Claxton the other day without any actual source of information, it's pretty easy to be sceptical of what you may post.
To be fair to him, there were several people on X reporting it was close to a done deal with Minnesota when he posted it. I just didn't think the sources were reputable. Deadspin was reporting it.
To be fair to myself, I literally searched for any reports before making my post and only came up with that they were in talks and that the Raptors and Wolves were 2 teams identified. So that's why I asked who was reporting it, to which I got 0 reply about.
Who on earth is 'Deadspin'?
Deadspin is a sports blog and website.

Re: Around the NBA 2026-27
Found this, don't know if it's been posted:
Some cap mechanic stuff from what will be a four-team trade between BKN-CHA-CHI-MIN:
No more $33M TPE for Julius Randle from the previously agreed to three-team trade. Wolves will instead use Randle's salary in aggregation to bring in LaMelo Ball/Josh Green
Wolves will trigger a second-apron hard cap due to aggregating Randle and Naz Reid's salaries. Roughly $16.3M under to fill 4-6 roster spots.

Re: Around the NBA 2026-27
Charlotte had a good draft (Steinbach/Anderson) and have a lot to work with going forward.
All their own first round picks plus:
2027 Dallas (top 1-2 protected).
2027 Miami (top 1-14 protected. Unprotected the next year).
2029 Pick from Utah/Cleveland/Minnesota (least favorable).
2033 Minnesota pick
Swaps with Minnesota in 2028, 29 and 30.
They also have a a bunch of 2nd round picks.

Charlotte has gone from one of the worst teams in the league with a bleak future to MJ making the best call on a draft pick in Miller and then them revamping into one of the deeper and young teams in the league.
For the first time since the Kemba era, Charlotte has a bright future.

Raptors did it with Kawhi as well. So there's that.

It's pointless when Denver just gonna match anyway
So you think they don’t mind going over the second apron? I say no chance. They have to dump like 28 mil in salary to be able to match a 30plus mil offer and not go over second apron. Who is taking cam johnson for over 20 mil plus another 9 million after that? If bulls offer 33 or 34 mil, im not sure denver has a pathway to even accomplish that.
We have Martell Webster. He's called Kyle Korver here, and we shall love him and squeeze him and call him Ashton. -BrooklynBulls

When he bought the team this deal was in place:
The approval of the sale of the Trail Blazers comes after the Oregon Legislature approved funds for the renovation of the Moda Center in early March. The measure gives the state joint ownership of the 30-year-old arena with the city and provides a mechanism to secure $365 million for the building's renovation. It also allayed fears that new ownership might move the team to another city.

Oh my goodness. It’s only preseason and I’m hyped Neil Funk. Jimmy G Buckets gets buckets.
Stop it. Stop it. Do not do him like that. Did you not get the memo Dragic? Derrick Rose can go upstairs.

In so many ways I am glad we didnt pick Tim Connelly as president. Because man.. The deals he has done the past few years have been cringe.
The giving away Randle is one thing. Continue to burn down the house with losing Naz and unprotected firsts are crazy talk. Who is playing in the front court? Did they forget they are playing in a conference with Wemby and Jokic?

Yeah, was thinking he'd be high teens. I woulda preferred him to Claxton, especially on his deal.

Re: Around the NBA 2026-27
Williams is too unreliable to be counted on for starting center, imo. 4 seasons of 60, 41, 19, 43 games. Never played over 27 minutes. He's an RFA clearly the Suns are prepared to pay what he got, so it would probably have to be significantly more. No thanks, very happy with healthy, durable, declining contract Claxton. I agree it probably would have taken high teens to steal him. One season over 45 games in four years is scary.

He was getting praise for building a team to beat Joker, only to turn around and do this. What a weird zag.
