If I Hart is traded his salary will go up 15% for entire contract that is left.
Just about any contract for Dort puts us in the 2nd apron even a vet minimum on both he and KWill. Please correct me if I have it wrong.

So grossly

2nd apron - 222 mill

Picking up Kenrich and Dort options - 236 mill

Without Kenrich and Dort - 211 mill

If Dort agreed to a contract around 10 mill/year (unlikely) you could stay under the 2nd apron for next season at least.

Then there's the option of trading Topic and/or Sorber to increase the space available.

I think that the best scenario is:
out Dort
out Topic

Resign KWill at veteran minimum
in two SF/PF veterans at minimum

SGA/Ajay/Stirtz
Wallace/Caruso/Mccain
JDub/x/x
Chet/Jwill/Kwill
IHart/Sorber/Mara

Now we are waiting to see what will happen with Lu.

I think Chet will still play a lot at the 5 (and I hope so because he's so much better there)

Chet’s days at the 5 are likely over for now.

Been thinking about this. I think it’s time to move on from Dort but Topic is a tricky one. He was a lottery pick but probably has neutral to negative value at this point. The best course of action might be to play him early in the season and try to rehab some value. If they were to move off of both now, who do you see as the vet minimums to fill the roster spots? I haven’t looked at free agents yet.

Topic need the ball in his hands to perform, but in a team with SGA, Ajay, Cason (who seems to claim more offensive responsabilities) and JDub I cant’see space to develop Topic..

For Vet minimums I would really like guys like Batum and/or Bruce Brown

I think it might be hard to get vet min to join us . At least those that can still play . The likely outcome (if we moved off dort or not) is that we keep topic and decide at the trade deadline. Even if he cost small asset to move at the time , he will be the salary matching if we need improvement.

Trade dort = open up roster spot.

Poku / Sorber / Chet / ihart /Mara.

If we need go smaller we sub in Jaylin.

If Poku is not available , we can sign Jonathan Isaac for the 5th big in starting lineup role.
