Jrue / George / Collier
Peterson / Cody Williams / Konchar
Bailey / Sensabaugh / Svi
Lauri / Fliposwki
JJJ / Nurkic

Between Peterson and Bailey I definitely think they should go for someone like that.
I think Peterson projects as a good defender—at least he has the necessary tools—and Ace shouldn't be terrible.

BYC likely will make a Jrue trade tough.

Svi/CodyWilliams/Konchar to POR works. Obviously not desirable players (maybe Williams can develop?). But for POR it would be a salary dump honestly.

Turner still needs a short term home?

Kessler sign and trade BYC + Konchar + “worse of” first for Turner?

Would rather it be Gafford, but seems close enough. Can add Filip or such..

Goga Bitadze...young, $7m expiring...ORL suddenly doesn't need him with Vuc home...solid backup

We need a starting caliber center. We already have Nurkic as a backup.

What about Kalbrenner? With the signing of Naz and the drafting of Steinbach, I’d say they have a surplus...

Naz isn't a Center. Steinbach also could be a 4/5.

From the start of the 2023–24 season (his 2nd season so removing his rookie year) through the present, Walker Kessler has averaged 9.7 points, 9.8 rebounds, and 2.4 blocks per game across 127 regular-season in 26.7 mpg So lets say he average 28 mpg and Robinson averages 24, (perhaps a bit optimistic maybe not, his is competing with Queta now, not KAT) again Kessler is making over 50% more.

It’s about maturity and professionalism not really defense.

It can work if Portland just wants off the money. Cody started looking better near the end of the season so he would be a small asset here too.

Huh?

DeAndre Ayton signed a 25% Max with Indiana in 2022. That was more than this.

It is, but it isn't. The alternative was Lakers sign him to offer sheet. Then Tomorrow Utah Matches.
Then Lakers probably offer Duren, Detroit matches.
Then Lakers probably offer Eason, Rockets match.

All while the Sandro, Grimes and Sexton deals wait to get finalized.

Then you have no fallback option, no starting center for another year and waste another year of Luka/Reaves prime.

Had Kessler signed today and the Lakers traded for him at the deadline somehow people would be more okay with the price they paid, but because it is a sign and trade it breaks their brains.

Yeah because you have to give up all your player assets and full MLE to free capspace

In that hypothetical, LAL would still have Rui, LBJ, Smart, taxMLE versus Sandro, Grimes and Sexton? Most people would’ve liked that more..

Or they would have Kessler’s 14 mil cap hold and a ton of cap space to go get anyone they wanted instead of fitting the budget around 30 mil Kessler.

Read on Twitter

Kessler's from Georgia, maybe he missed the warm weather lol

They pay state taxes for where games are played. Not sure that data is accurate.

Reaves?

I had read the posters example as if Kessler was traded for at the deadline, not the upcoming deadline.

Same idea though. They’d have had built a full roster spending to first apron. And it would’ve likely been better than what they have now even with matching Kessler’s new deal.
