Khris Middleton is back?!
Always remember, my friend: the world will change again. And you may have to come back through everywhere you've been.

Gotta be another move coming right? Rotation was already full without Mids.

It looks like it might technically be a sign-and-trade. And you can't sign-and-trade a guy unless it's a 3-year deal, but the last 2 years can be non-guaranteed.
My guess is that the last 2 years are non-guaranteed. It makes no sense to lock up long term money on a guy like Middleton who is washed.

The only move that would make sense is if they had a plan to trade one of our young wings, which I don't want to see happen (yet). So, no. I don't think this part of a multi-step plan. I think this is just a veteran mentor they wanted on the roster.

This is the biggest sign that the Anthony Gill era is finished in DC

I take that back. I wouldn't be surprised if Whitmore is moved in another deal.

We’re kind of trading away a bunch of seconds right now. I think we get some back in a future Bub trade.

Now it makes sense. I sure hope those last 2 years are non-guaranteed.

Not necessarily lol. Russell’s spot is taken by Middleton. Gill might get another year lol

Re: Khris Middleton is back?!
I'm fine with Middleton as a Haslem type. I don't know if we need two Haslems, so I'd be prepared to offer Gill an assistant coach or FO gig (assuming that there's no market for him).

Re: Khris Middleton is back?!
I think they're resigned to the fact that we don't have enough roster spots going forwards to possibly roster all of our upcoming SRP's. Instead of trying to develop SRP's with our 15th roster spot, we're going to keep adding veteran Khris Middleton/Anthony Gill types to keep the locker room in good shape.

Re: Khris Middleton is back?!
Welcome back!
As a mentor, he will be able to teach a lot to AJ and a few others, while putting in 10-15 mins/gm every other game.
I like to is pickup as long as the last 2 yrs are now guaranteed. Next, move him into the coaching staff.
