Re: Welcome to the District, Anicet Dybantsa Jr.
Posting this not for the Bron to DC part, but to highlight AJ has worked out with Bron in the past. Since AJ is a Nike athlete, they will probably design a shoe for him similar to the ones they designed for Bron. Although, I do worry because Kobe tore his achilles wearing the lows Nike designed for him. Lows look cooler to a lot of the young guys, but high tops are better shoes for hooping IMO.

Great post! We should all buy a pair of those shoes and mail them to the wiz training facility.

Re: Welcome to the District, Anicet Dybantsa Jr.
Shoe is still made cheaply. The footbed is not broken into two parts allowing for easy distinction between front foot and heel when landing or making dynamic power movements. These shoes force the player to apply pressure in middle of the foot instead of giving distinct feedback from the heel and distinct feedback in toe. Wearing lebron elites feels like you are wearing to shoes at the same time because one part of the shoe is built for your heel and the other part is built for your forefoot. A cheap shoes combines both the toe and the heel, which is what Kobes do. AJ shoe that he is debut is simply a modify version of kobe.
Mid shoes provide feedback to your ankles while making cuts. Lebron Elite 12 signal to your ankle that you are making a movement that is safe longterm. Lebron Elite 12 probably have the most feedback custom directly from lebron james. After lebron elite 12, you notice a significant drop in quality of material. Just look at the bottom of lebron elite 12 compared to kobe's and or silhoute and tell me which one allows for a 20 year career.
The shoes does not allow the user to receive continuous feedback from the forefoot and the heel when executing explosive movement. It forces the user to move the entire foot as one block instead of allowing the player to continously on the front of the foot. the player has to bend the shoe in order to feel foot pressure from front of the foot which strains the foot. When shoe is broken into two parts, player does not have to continously bend the shoe to maintain court feel from the front of the shoe on explosive movements. If you pay attention, to the pick i posted of AJ attempting to stop, you see that the shoe promotes using middle of the foot instead of the toes in order to stop. This is the element of cheaply made shoe designed to be produced at a price point. Producing lebron elite 12 cost 5 time more than what a factory needs to make Kobe lows or GT. In order to extend your career, you copy what lebron used in his prime. Point blank.
This is a feature of non elite shoes. Elite shoes separate fore foot from the heel, this is a key feature a player needs in order to have an extended career. It provide feedback needed for landing backwards. It allows for balance on the front foot for long periods of time. Kobe lows promote playing flat foot, which means that you are playing with your knees locked instead of playing on your toes. Playing on your toes, forces your knees into an athletic posture which promotes a longterm career. Locked knees playing in flat shoes like kobe lows or GT promotes standing straight and keeping your weight in the middle of the shoe. Very difficult to transition from toe to heel dynamically which is why you see AJ foot locked in the picture i posted mid dribble.

His right foot is locked because shoe is giving him feedback to put weight into middle of his foot instead of his toe.

Lebron Elite 12's don't even allow the player to put weight into the middle of the foot. that is why they are called "ELITES".

Build your team w/5 shooters using P. Pierce Form deeply bent hips and lower back arch at same time b4 rising into shot. Elbow never pointing to the ground! Good teams have an engine player that shoot volume (2000 full season) at 50 percent.Large Hands

Imagine if he were wearing lebron elite 12. All that clumsy footwork would be eliminate. If you look closely, he almost never has power in his feet but he doesn't know any better. Its like eating noodles are you life, and then when you taste the flavor of steak, you realize what you have been missing. You can see he has never tasted steak before...aka lebron elite 12s.

If you’re old school, you’ll remember TMac. I see a lot of TMac game in AJ.

Hopefully we get some NBC games. As T-Mac is an analyst there.
AJ talked about Tracy here. And how Darryn is a Kobe guy. So it’s like a new version of TMac vs. Love in the works.

At 6'10, what do you guys project AJ's main position to be when he reaches grown man strength and size. Since he is an attacker, it seems like he should have two people to kick-out to (although he is more likely to "bait fouls" while trying to score. Ideally, he will also develop a nasty stroke from deep himself, so-many possibilities for him.

It doesn't really matter. He is a "wing". He can play at the 2, 3 or 4. Ultimately, he should play alongside one true big man, one more ball-handler/shot-creator, and 2 guys who are the best shooter/defenders we can find. All of his teammates should be as tall as possible while still fulfilling their necessary role.

I agree. Although, I think of AJ less as a 4. I’d rather have a Yaxel there. Someone with more bulk and strength, that is a better rebounder, but still has the athleticism to switch.
And I’d love someone in the mold of a Mikel Brown at PG. tall/long, can penetrate, has deep range, can defend, and doesn’t need a million shots a game.
Tre would be such a perfect complement if he just becomes more consistent offensively and actually becomes an average defender. A guy that can light it up playing off ball.
Klay Thompson is such a good archetype of someone that would be good to pair with AJ
