I don't expect this to happen, but if it does, I think it'll be in free agency next year.
Preferably as a S&T where a 40M TPE might come in handy.

If he were 32 years old like Giannis and Warriors can't upgrade, he probably would leave. If he has an undying desire for the 5th ring, he would have pressured the Warriors hard to trade picks. None of those are true, and I just don't see Curry demanding a trade at this point. He probably would want to avoid Hakeem's career, and would want to break 5k 3 points.
You have to remember Jordan left he Bulls to try to get one more (very different situation, but still)
If the owners comments about looking to after Steph as a reason to not invest in the current team, I can 100% see a a possible fire-sale (why not?)
buy out Butler. Draymond and Steph for Duren and xyz? KP to Clippers?
But again all sort of far out possibilities. Steph would probably want to make sure his farewell was more like Kobe than MJ.

He should just follow Tony Parker’s footsteps and retire in Charlotte

And the notion that he’d have this much trade value at 39 is absurd.
Four first round picks and two starters for a 39 year old that they can just sign a year from now LOL.
If the Hornets and Steph want each other, Steph will just sign there to end his career. Warriors aren't trading him, and no one is offering half that anyway.

I could see Celtics offer Paul George, Hauser and 4-5 1sts.
