JORDAN SMITH JR. is a consensus five-star basketball recruit in the United States' high school class of 2026. Both ESPN and 247 Sports had him as the #2 recruit in his high school class, while On3 / Rivals had him ranked #5. The RSCI Hoops consensus ranking had him as the #3 recruit in the class.

Smith has extensive experience playing for USA Basketball, where he won two gold medals at the following FIBA Tournaments: the 2024 FIBA U17 World Cup in Turkey and the 2025 FIBA U19 World Cup in Switzerland.

In the 2025–26 season, his senior year of high school, Smith played high school basketball for St. Paul VI Catholic High School Panthers in Chantilly, Virginia (a suburb of Washington, D.C.). The Panthers went 33-3 throughout a season where they won the esteemed City of Palms Classic tournament. The Panthers went on to win both the WCAC (Washington Catholic Athletic Conference) championship and the VISAA (Virginia Independent Schools Athletic Association) Division 1 State championship. In the Chipotle Nationals, Paul VI, as a 6 seed, fell to 3 seed CIA Bella Vista. The final score of the game was 79-67 as Smith scored 35 points.

During the season, Smith averaged 26.6 points, 6.3 rebounds, 5.6 assists and 3.2 steals per game while shooting 56.0 percent from the field, 36.9 percent from 3-point range and 72.4 percent from the free throw line.

Smith was the consensus national high school player of the year, winning all of the following awards: the 2025-2026 Gatorade National Boys Basketball Player of the Year award, the 2025-2026 MaxPreps National Player of the Year award, the 2026 Jersey Mike's Naismith Boys’ High School Player of the Year award, the 2026 Mr. Basketball USA award, the 2026 The Sporting News high school basketball player of the year award, and the 2026 USA TODAY Sports Boys Basketball Player of the Year award.

In late spring 2026, Smith played in the McDonald's All-American game (where he was a starting guard for Team East, which lost 102-86 to Team West) and the Nike Hoop Summit (where he started for Team USA in its 102-100 overtime victory against Team World).

Smith was born on September 7, 2007 (making him two months younger than Cameron Boozer, the youngest player selected in the 2026 NBA draft). His hometown is Washington, D.C. If he declared for the 2027 NBA Draft, he would be 19 years and 9 months old on draft day.

Smith committed to the University of Arkansas Razorbacks in the Southeastern Conference on February 13, 2026, and he will play college basketball there as a freshman in the 2027 season.

The University of Arkansas listed him as a guard who is 6' 2" tall and who weighs 205 pounds. He wears the #23 jersey for the Razorbacks.

My lord 2027 is the class of non shooters. Stokes can't shoot, neither can our PG guard sized player. Too small also.

I like Caleb Holt and Cameron Williams way more than Stokes + Smith. I just can't get on board to non-shooting prospects.

For a more detailed look, public box scores are available for 14 games that Smith played in (out of 36 total that Paul VI played last season). These games are all available either through this link (LegitGM) or this link (City of Palms Classic).

Paul VI won those 14 games with a point differential of 153 (or an average of +10.9). Meanwhile, for the 22 games that public box scores are not readily available for, Paul VI won with a point differential of 434 (or an average of +19.7). This shows that the games for which box scores are available for represent a much tougher group of teams than the teams Paul VI faced that box scores were not recorded for. Yesterday, against Carleton University (the reigning Canadian college champions), this is how Jordan Smith Jr. did:

I'm an Arkansas fan, so I'll end up watching all of his college games. So far through the 4 exhibitions he's looked good. He's not going to be counted on to do everything like people thought Acuff was last year - though I didn't agree with that take because Meleek Thomas, Trevon Brazile, Billy Richmond III, and Malique Ewin could all score.

It should be a fun team to watch this season with upwards of 5 players having a chance of cracking the first round: Jordan Smith Jr., JJ Andrews, Abdou Toure, Billy Richmond III, and Miikka Muurinen. I'm a huge fan of Billy Richmond III, but I get that his NBA prospects are limited if he can't show a very improved 3 point shot.

Feel like he's a top-3 guy rather than top-5 so I went with 1. Might not go one but I like the two-way potential.
