Steph has a no trade clause but I think he'd void it to join Wemby and the Spurs.

Spurs should deal harper or castle and make this happen. It would be a championship if health holds up. It seems like a good move for both sides. Castle and picks would fast track their rebuild. They can also sell Green for other youth.

I don’t know if the Spurs would break the league, but they’d certainly break the Warriors. You’re asking them to give you their best player ever and all you’re offering of any value are late draft picks. They’d be better off just losing Steph in free agency. At least then they wouldn’t have the albatross of Fox’s bad contract.

Meh, the Fox contract isn’t the worst thing in the world for a team like GSW. If Curry is out they are in rebuild mode and because of the new lottery rules that means they won’t want to completely bottom out. Fox can at least floor raise them out of the bottom 3 for the next 2-3 years.

GSW likely doesn’t even have any young guys who project to be a top 3 player on their next great team. They need to spend a few years in the wilderness to find those guys. Fox can float you above bottom 3 while they try and find those guys. If they were a team closer to turning the corner on their next generation of players I wouldn’t want Fox but GSW is pretty much starting from zero once Curry is gone.

I get it, you would be happy if the Warriors are a really bad team for a really bad time. But the Warriors aren’t trying to dump Steph Curry for a negative package. Curry has great value to them, whereas they couldn’t trade what is being sent to them here without taking back another bad player in return. They will be bad enough when Steph retires, but at least they won’t have one of the worst contracts in the NBA hanging over their heads until 2030.

The Spurs won’t be able to dump Fox without giving up multiple picks. Steph would require more picks on top of that. Despite his age, the Warriors aren’t trying to get rid of him.

Curry returning Castle is a fantasy. And I'm not even that high in him.

I have Curry as a tier above Giannis (GOAT candidate vs HOFer), and I'd rather have two or three years of him over the rest of Antetokounmpo's career easily. That said, I don't think Fox's contract is one the Spurs would or should pay to get off, and I think fans who believe the Warriors would be acquiring DAF are just wrong. So I think Castle and Fox would be an overpay given the limited number of teams that could truly take advantage of Curry's impact during the time he has left. So I think the Warriors would have to kick in value since they're acquire two All-Star --caliber point-guards in their 20s. But I think it's actually a gap that could be bridged pretty easily.

I'm a minority from Spurs fans I've spoken to who think Castle alone is more valuable than Curry and that the Spurs should only acquire Curry is they can run him with Castle. And before anyone gets any ideas, no. Spurs fans are in consensus that Harper isn't on the table for any player in the league. The divide is whether some of us think a Curry/Harper backcourt is worth trading Castle or if Curry's just a nice upgrade over Fox for a couple of years as the Spurs stick to their ultimate plan to have Castle/Harper as the future back court.

I know the frequent posters on this site are extremely confident in their read of the Fox situation and thus will find my take disagreeable.
