When I first joined the Board in 2012 (having been urged to do so by Doc, with whom I'd interacted on another site) I was absolutely certain of everything I thought & wrote here. Looking back, it's obvious that I was an argumentative PITA -- not always but way too often.

It took a few years for that attitude to wear away, & I can't be sure it is 100% gone, but certainly it's not *much* evident any more. I hope. In any case, it's a pleasure to have this opportunity to express how much I enjoy this board & each of you fellow-posters!

Of course, some of you may be rubbing your hands together eagerly as you prepare to tell me off! :) If so, have at it! After all, it'll make me -- briefly! -- the center of attention! :)

Least favorable: he’s a Wizards fan. Posts in this board with you knuckleheads. Terrible taste in company. Suggests mild impairment in his judgement, which you might attribute to his advanced age, except he’s been here for a long time.

Best trait, the guy is totally in love with his wife. Like loopy. It’s charming. Lucked out eventually. Persistence pays off. So maybe there’s hope for the sports team too.

I’m gonna need some PIF “stats” before I can form a solid opinion of him.

How many times has he been right on this board? How many times has he been wrong? How often has he clung to out-of-context stats to make his argument? I think the answers are, respectively, sometimes, often and always.

(PIF, an "amazingly suck" trade is a badge of honor. Wear it with pride. It means you matter around here.) :D

There are only two stats that matter in basketball. TS% and possessions gained. That's just math. You can say it's not so, but that's just your opinion, okay amigo?

There are only two posters’ stats that matter: number of posts and and 1s. That’s it. You can only win at posting if you post more than your opponent at a high and 1 efficiency score. There is no such thing as poster gravity. Convince yourself that being friend adjacent to Doc matters all you want. You’d be wrong.

100% accurate.

Ironically, here’s my most And-1’d post on these boards.

No.

Sadly I receive nor convey any statistical boost for being palsy with PIF. Even he doesn’t and-1 my screeds.

That’s grammatically incorrect. One cannot suck on this board. But, one can be the suck

No problem with the stats, old buddy. I don't think it's possible to be right "sometimes" unless you're willing to be wrong "often."

I'm sure he can handle it, but I don't see the worth of starting a thread to attack a fellow Wiz fan. You wouldn't do this to Nate, or Doc, or CCJ. PIF is a 100% unique participant in this board. Thinking of locking this thread unless OP changes title PIF Appreciation Thread or something.

Or edit this into the first post:

He's over the top -- to the point of ridiculousness: one look at Michael Winger reveals that he's "smarmy"...? :) -- but, hey, that's how fans are. After all the word "fan" is a shortening of "fanatic."

That said, I still cannot understand why this thread even exists. This is the best moment to be a Wizards fan in a long long time. Seems like it'd be more fun & more interesting to get in sync with that. But, hey, there's no accounting for "fan-aticism," right?

Sacrilege PIF. Everyone of note has an amazingly suck thread. It started with DMV goat Juan Dixon if I recall directly. Don’t look now, but soon there might be an amazingly suck PIF thread… and you’ll like it
