Nellie Draft R1 - Mr Ringer* vs. JimmyPlopper

Post#1 » by Fadeaway_J » Tue Aug 18, 2026 11:28 pm

Here is a quick list of what you need in your writeup.

1. Specific years for each player on your team
2. Rotations and minutes for each player
3. Reasoning as to why your team will win and/or why people should vote for you.

Do not vote in this thread until both managers have submitted their writeups. Once the writeups are posted, you may post a vote by commenting to this post (notice we will not be using a poll) - all participants of the draft are invited and encouraged to post a vote, so as other regular participants of the games in the forum. You are not required to explain your vote, but you are welcome to do so if you want.

The team with the most votes after 24 hours will advance / win championship (depending on round). If a team gets 4 votes before 24 hours, then the first one to do that auto advances. If the votes are tied, we will decide the matchup via AI vote.

Minimum of two human votes to decide a matchup.

If writeups aren't posted within 24 hours, we will vote solely based on the players they have drafted (and any rotations they have posted on their roster page).

Jason Kidd 02’ - 13.9 (Coach)
Jrue Holiday 24’ - 10.0 (Celtics)
Shawn Marion 11’ - 10.4 (Mavs)
Dirk Nowitzki 11’ - 16.2 (Coached by Nellie)
Dikembe Mutombo 95’ - 7.7 (10s HOF inductee)
Andrew Wiggins 22’ - 14.0 (Warriors)
Rick Fox 01’ - 7.9 (LAL&BOS)
Alton Lister 85’ - 7.4 (Bucks)
87.5/88

Kidd 38\Jrue 10
Jrue 26\Wiggins 22
Marion 22\Fox 18\Wiggins 8
Dirk 38\Marion 10
Mutombo 36\Lister 12

Jrue on Luka, Kidd on Hornacek, Marion on Klay, Dirk on Rodman, Dikembe on Walton
Terrific defensive matchup for me, with several challengers on Luka, to knock him off his game and stay well fresh, Kidd, Jrue, Marion and Wiggins all take minutes. Dirk is hiding perfectly on Rodman and can actually help out around with no offense at all at Rodman’s side.

On offense, Dirk serves as the main scorer, possibly the best in this matchup. Kidd and Hrue are two elite playmakers who share the floor nice and stay with at least one at any moment, with Marion adding some strength on the wings, and Wiggins and Fox stretching the floor and adding a final shooting punch.

Category 1: Bill Walton (1986) - 5.1 - 6MOY1, 2.5 B/36, 12.7 R/36, 3.8 A/36
Category 2: Tim Thomas (2001) - 10.0 - 6MOY2, 41.2% 3P, 3.4 3PA/G, 1.6 STOCKS/G
Category 3: Klay Thompson (2015) - 16.9, MVP10, AS, NBA3
Category 4: Luka Dončić (2021) - 23.6 - MVP3, AS, NBA1, CPOY6
Category 5: Marcus Smart (2019) - 7.1 - DPOY8, DEF1, 36.4% 3P, 80.6% FT, 4.0 APG
Category 6: Jeff Hornacek (1996) - 10.7 - 46.6% 3P, 89.3% FT, 5.1 APG, 5.0 RPG
Category 7: Dennis Rodman (1992) - 3.7 - MVP11, DPOY6, DEF2
Category 8: Jack Sikma (1989) - 10.4 - 38.0% 3P, 90.5% FT, 1.9 STOCKS/G, 2.7 3PA/G

87.5/88.0

Luka Doncic (38) / Marcus Smart (10)
Jeff Hornacek (32) / Marcus Smart (16)
Klay Thompson (36) / Tim Thomas (8) / Marcus Smart (4)
Dennis Rodman (38) / Tim Thomas (10)
Jack Sikma (30) / Bill Walton (18)

Offensively, Sikmas deep shooting pulls Dikembe away from the rim and opens up the paint for Luka. Luka is surrounded by elite shooting and with what I believe is both a depth and bench advantage. This is an older Mavs version of Marion and a version of Kidd that was excellent but a poor shooter.

Klay covers Kidd
Rodman covers Dirk
Sikma covers Mutombo
Hornacek on Holiday
Luka on Marion

Good luck Ringer!

Close but having a great Doncic defending backcourt makes me vote Ringer
